I got a Nexus 7 which uses the android system. I put the avare aviation GPS on it. It's a free ap, and it works pretty good. And priced just right to boot. Jim Chuk.

  4. EDMO added a post in a topic No thermostat?

I know that auto engines are designed to work at a certain temperature set by the engine maker by the thermostat.
I am wondering if you could get shock cooling without one, and would there be more carbon buildup at lower running temps?
I know little about the 2-strokes, but my Soob is supposed to have the thermostat installed and not removed.
Most 4-strokers run best at 190 to 210F, depending on makers specs.
If yours runs too hot in summer, maybe you need better rad / cooling system?

    No thermostat?
High 90+ degree days are right around the corner and so are high engine temps. I'm thinking about taking my thermostat out of my 582 when it gets above 80. Is there anything wrong with that. I will let her warm up 5 min and watch the temps, but does the engine have to run a thermostat? Thanks Bryce

Picked up the motor today! Thanks to one of our members Dan for letting me ship it to his house and take up space in his garage for a  few weeks!

    Leni,
I'm thinking the dynavibe is heavier, more complex, and maybe not as strong as the standard mount. But mostly it's the weight, which is on the wrong end. The parts manifest that came with my plane, I didn't build it, just says motor mount and the build manual shows the original mount, not the dynavibe. Either way, I want to make the nose as light as possible. Thanks, Bryce

Firefox works the best on the micro-crap machines, IMO.

I refuse to use Google-Chrome.  To many prying eyes.

Leni, I've always had this issue and haven't ever been able to post a link or copy paste since I joined. I still need to try and see if I can get it to work in a different browser. I've been working today and didn't have a chance to check if clearing my cache would help.

EDIT: Looks like my internet Explorer and this website just don't get along.  I tried to copy paste with this open in Chrome and no issues...carry on. I don't like Chrome for most things but I guess it's my new browser for this forum.

just curious why you would want to swap them out?  I am not sure that the cowling will need any mods.  I put a MK IV cowling on my C with the normal mount without any issues.

No offset in the fin. Are the standard mounts not offset? Main concern is having to hack up my cowling to make it work.

No reason to have signs where you are Ed, most of the drivers couldn't read them, and the ones that could would just use them for target practice!  But that pretty much describes where I am too ...  Wait, we have the school for the visually impaired here, maybe all those hole are an attempt to put braille on the signs!

    Felix,

    She is a beaut!
    What engine do you have?

I'm still building mine, so I haven't made or found a POH yet. I bet somebody on the yahoo forum has one they made. Are you part of the yahoo group yet? The site sucks compared to this one, but some guys haven't made it over here yet and still follow that site closely.
I think I have the complete Magnum Manual, so if you need something let me know.
    Great looking Magnum, enjoy it!

Get the Police and FAA involved...that A-hole doesn't need to be flying!
The Owner will never get enough money to replace his plane and suing people sucks! More hassle than it is ever worth and it takes so long that you find yourself stuck thinking about the bad situation for longer than it is worth! Plus, the lawyers take such a large chunk that it would not replace the damage!
Punish him with jail or losing his ticket, Please...Nobody else needs him doing that to their plane.

I agree with Ed. The court house just scares me anyway. I didn't read the story but if the guy who screwed up had any balls he would just come clean. Now having ground looped once myself I can say fixing that wing is doable. Just a real big pain in the ass(checkbook). Gentlemen.

Kenneth - this should work...  It works for me.

I've had some weird issues with this site in the past, too.  It sounds like a problem with your computer.  Can you do a cashe dump?  Clear the internet files, cookies, etc.  Then reboot the whole thing.

Leni or Joey, how do you copy and paste? The normal functions of control C or V don't work and neither does right click to bring up those options. There has been several times when I needed this for some reason or other and can't do it.

Same goes for adding a link in my posts. It just won't let me do it. Am I restricted or is that they way the forum is set up? When I try to add a link it just freezes the forum for me completely until I back out, and wipes out what I've written before trying to add the link.

    Any suggestions?
