birddog486 added a post in a topic SOLD FS 912ULS Avid 60HRS TT
Thanks Chris. I didn't use certified scales when it was weighed but I came up with 667. As far as gas goes I assume you mean 6 GPH? If so I don't have the fuel flow option installed but, if I remember correctly for flight planning purposes I was burning under 5 gph at 52-5300rpm and cruising mid 90's.

birddog486 added a post in a topic MK IV Aerobat speedwing spar gouge/repair
Really????
Almost a .070" gouge out of a .083" thick spar needs some definite surgery to make that safe.
You guys recommending smoothing that out need to look at the first pics again and take note the amount the digital caliper is open.
The original post stating .006-,007" doesn't come close, apparently using that mode on the caliper throws people off. You can barely see a .007" gap between the caliper jaws.

birddog486 added a post in a topic Splicing spars to extend wings
I added three feet. I think that makes it the standard long wing length. If your wing is already built it wouldn't be the best idea to extend it more than 3' if you've built in the washout that the plans call for. The 2" of washout adds a lot of drag and extending beyond 3' could make the negative performance outweigh the benefits of the longer wing

I used Avids instructions when I extended my aerobatic speedwing. Use a 12" piece of .083 spar with about a 1/2" strip cut out lengthwise. mark a line at 6"and put a slight taper on both ends. squeeze with hose clamps and insert into the spar 6" I found a drill pattern online but there wasn't anything special about it. Pay attention where the slot is located and don't drill to close to those edges.

Nope, not fuel. Those are oil lines that run between the engine and oil tank that's fitted under the baggage area.

here's a couple pics. just make a template from cardboard and cut a notch that will fit under the rear brace tube. I have about a 1/2" overlap in the center and there attached with some 1/4 long sheet metal screws into the tubes

How to decide value on 912ULS AvidTo make a long story short, after a recent diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis, being 6' 2" tall and having joint pain issues in the knees I'm considering selling my 2014 Avid model C approx. 60hrs. with raised skylight and turtledeck. 912ULS(350ish hrs.) extended aerobatic speed wing.
The plane is setup as a Tri gear now but I have the complete setup for tail dragger including a set of main gear and matco 6" tailwheel. The conversion to tail dragger was complete and approved by the local FSDO after I completed phase 1 and is noted in the logbook, including W&B.
The Kit was purchased new from Avid by my father in DEC. of 1990 and stored after a couple years. I started construction in 2011 and first flight around June of 2014
IVO medium 3 blade prop
Dynon D60 glass panel
GTR 225 comm
Garmin GTX 327 transponder
PS engineering intercom
GRT 4000 engine monitor
ACK E-04 ELT
AeroLED landing light and Nav/Strobes
I know the value will be nowhere near whats been invested but I'm looking for opinions on how to value this.
