Here is the back side. I took a 1/4 nylon piece, mounted and measured the degrees of deflection and marked the centers. I removed and then I used a Dremel to make the grooves. Works very well and holds up to vibration so it doesn't slip.

C box air ventOn my 582's I have never used the C box air vent and have never noticed an issue. For whatever reasons possessed me I added the air vent to my C box and it seems to throw a lot of oil out. I was very careful not to over fill but throws just the same. What are your opinions, keep it and keep filling back up or get rid of it?

Cooling is superior even on the ground. The shroud is high pressure in and low out causing natural flow through. Important to have the draw lip on the back as in the pic. Reducing the size of the out also reduces the low pressure reducing the differential reducing the flow reducing the cooling. You can also shutter the front for winter.

Ed note the angle in the pic and the low pressure exit shroud, Prev pic is from the rear.

You will also have better fin exposure thus better cooling with the radiator mounted on an angle vs airflow, up to 45 degrees. This is a dirt bike racer's trick. (I'm not the dirt bike racer)

F7A revisitedI have tried and tried to get a response from Brett McKinney without success. Does anyone have or can someone come up with and post an actual template of the F7A so we can build them ourselves and not lose access? I fear Airdale is short lived with no one interested in supporting the Avid any more.

No problems. The caps seal with PVC glue. Melts them to the core PVC 6" pipe. For the fittings I used Permatex fuel sealant with again no issues. You don't want to over tighten the fittings although they do snug up nicely. I do like the extra fuel and as I posted before I put the low fuel sensor at the two gallon level. The low fuel sensor information is posted on the yahoo group site in the files area. Pretty easy to build.

Easy to install and calibrate. I have the std header vent you can see part of in the pic. Bend faces aft. No issues. I did install a low fuel sensor in the header tank when I rebuilt following my fuel line clog accident. Gives me 2 full gals reserve at the sensor.

These Rochester fuel gauges work great and aren't too costly.

My original fitting was not the same as the larger Spruce. The pic shows the Spruce on the left and the modified original on the right.

Unsoldered the Spruce and rerolled and resoldered on to the smaller original fitting.

avidchh added a post in a topic M.E.K. Substitute?
I have used the MEK substitute extensively without issue for polyfiber products and other MEK uses. Ace Hardware and Home Depot carry only the substitite now. Walmart doesn't carry MEK or the substitute here. The label says that can be used anywhere MEK is called for.

I have the strainers now. I had to make them. I bought the Spruce type and desoldered them. I bought the fittings from Airdale and resoldered the screens onto them.
