Hey Chris,
I've tried as much, no luck. Sometimes I'm able to leave a message, other times no. Two numbers I have: 715-369-1343 and 715-360-1343.
Maybe someone who lives near him can pay him a visit and ask WTF.

Interesting ideas. Thanks for opinions
I have a 3:1.
I haven't gotten to the clutch or repitching yet. Busy week. I promise to report findings

Hi Ed, I dont know the difference between the avid plus and the magnum but think we pretty much got it figured out, need the battery in behind the baggage area and some survial gear and it should be good to go
Great - Hate to hear about someone hauling weight they don't need - You need both of those - Add in a bottle of Jack D. for a firestarter and you are flying!
I have the Magnum forward and aft CGs, but should be about same as FA.

Is anyone aware of the current status of Airdale LLC? I have been trying to get a hold of Brett to get a cowl for my Flat Avid. He has not returned emails or call messages. Yesterday I called again hoping that maybe the squeaky wheel gets the grease. This time his message machine did not allow me to leave a message. it only said call back later. This is very frustrating. I know I am not alone in my frustration, but my purpose here is not to create animosity.
I just want to know is he still in the business of providing parts to us? if he is I can only hope he will EVENTUALLY return a call or email.
If he is not I need to know so I can move on.
Is there anyone on this board who knows him and can let me know?

Here is another thought that I have used with success. I put a small washer of the right thickness under each circlip that would move the needle half the distance from one groove/notch to the next. Just wondering what your static rpm is @ full throttle? Others mentioned adding pitch and that makes sense also. Jim Chuk

I need a needle that allows me to use a middle clip option and be a bit richer than what I have now with the 15k2 on the 2nd clip.
Or am I missing something?

I may have a line on some Speedwing parts as well depending on your location. Would be insanely expensive to ship that stuff very far.

I am using Stace's tanks to. He is real nice to deal with. I think he would build parts for the Avid's also.

today I ordered some wing tanks from ridge runner. I talked to stace he was very informative and helpful, for anyone looking for wing tanks these seem to be a good option, thanks for all your replys looped

Where are you located Sam?
I have some rib fixtures if you decide to build your own wings.,

I talked to the guy that does my tig welding and he is willing to make some F7A's up. They will be $85 plus shipping. I am looking at about a month to get the parts in, jigs made and ready to ship. Anyone out there interested? Would like to be able to do a run of 5 or so if there is some interest but will do a one off if necessary. He will be able to make standard brake pedals, control sticks and etc. I do suggest Mikesk brake pedals rather than the standard ones and we won't be making those. Motor mounts and other control parts are also possible .

Damaged the port wing tip and the flaperon is beyond repair. Looking for speedwing parts to repair or a replacement and a flaperon replacement.Aircraft is a Avid MK IV so Kitfox 1,2,3 wings will work Long wings okay. Any ideas on finding these parts or any have wings for sale?

The "free" cub that was raffled off a few years ago up here by the ak airmans had a 250+ price tag on it... The poor bastage that won it had to cough up 86 in taxes before he could take delivery of it.. It's the stupidest thing I have seen in awhile. Too many rich guys getting into cubs now that are willing to pay 100,000 for a plane that was 22,000 new in the 70's and is beat to shit. As long as there are guys with little enough peckers to have to pay these kind of prices just to say they have a cub in the hangar, the normal working stiff wont be able to afford them.

I also see Leni's point.
Say you buy a serviceable Pacer for 25K.
It will burn 3-4 gal/hour more than the 38K Kitfox and cruise faster than a Kitfox with the same size tires.
At $6.00/gal for avgas it will take 620 hours flight time to break even on the higher cost Kitfox versus the higher fuel burn Pacer.
If you do not have the repairman certificate for the Kitfox you will need to pay for the condition inspection as well as the the annual for the Pacer.
If you need folding wings or a Light sport license than the Pacer is not an option.

But - If you keep making rug rats, you will need a DC-3 or C-130!

I have some measurements I will post when I get home later today or you can look back to some posted photos and compare with measurements of the F7.

I have tried and tried to get a response from Brett McKinney without success. Does anyone have or can someone come up with and post an actual template of the F7A so we can build them ourselves and not lose access? I fear Airdale is short lived with no one interested in supporting the Avid any more.

me thinks your kinda screwed....
not a problem..... I have always enjoyed building hot rods.... some of my builds was 23 tbucket with a small block chevy, tunnel ram with 2 4's then I changed the small block out to a 91 tpi motor I used the ecm and reprogrammed the chip had a lot of fun with the tbucket built camaros and a vega with a 350 small block and a 4 speed built some custom bikes, so don't care to jump in and ck the water out ,,,,

me thinks your kinda screwed.. its POSSIBLE, that an aftermarket shaft and pump from Joe Grahek (find him on barnstormers) MAY work for you, but I am not certain. You could call him and see. I would still be thinking about the single ignition and the other issues you have to deal with in the conversion that may not make it quite so appealing. But hey, I am not gonna be the guy to say don't try it as I have an engine conversion in the works myself!

can you post some pictures of the engine
yes I can I have some pictures from the web but my engine is the same the engine will los some weight by changing the exh and intake all comments are appreciated good or bad

I just talked to Mike today who is down the road from me at Stratus2000. He said he does still retrofit the subaru EA-81 but it will soon be VERY hard to find parts. E.g. oversize pistons. Soon these parts will simply be unavailable, even though he still answers the phone. He said lots of these things should outlast the life of the plane, but still that makes me a little uneasy.
Basically, the story I'm getting is the subaru is on its way out and the Viking, if it's true that they've sold 200 engines already, is on its way up.
As someone who doesn't have any preference either way, I don't see how one could opt for a new Subaru without equal consideration of the Viking.
