Ha! Ha!
Ok, I tried lacquer thinner and mineral spirits and they created no big help.
The secret is getting the stuff moist again...soapy water is working best, chemicals evaporate to quickly and don't saturate down to the glue.
I'll try the other ones later.

JOEY AND JIM,Ummm Matco?? I've always dealt with them directly. If closer to a warehouse spruce carries them too.
Someone needs to advise TJay about the different cams and how they affect the handeling - I cant do that, since I don't know anything about MATCO tailwheels - Just been eavesdropping on some earlier posts on here.

I was actually thinking at first that you were talking about the RED TRIM KNOB that had been posted -
Then I had a second thought, and that sounded bad too!

Just looked in my year old Wag Aero catalog, and they had the 8" Matco pneumatic tailwheel for $235. Saw an 8" Maule on ebay with an opening bid of $195. 5 days to go with no bids yet. Jim Chuk

Been along time with this install.
This is what we did to the lower cowl.
As you can tell we have not painted it yet.

I recall John McBean and some of the Desert Squadron builders discussing this topic years ago. IIRC, they said there was no appreciable increase in top speed when swapping to Hoerner tips from drooped, nor any great decrease in stall speeds when swapping from Hoerner to droop tips. Boiled down to aesthetics for most.

Short report:
At first I bent my old (soft) spring cold with the hydraulic press. It works fine!
And now it isnt soft. The angle is very important.
Thank younJim!
Then I cut the new old spring like Jim Chuk told.
But then I must help in my toughters new flat ( paint the wall and so on...
An Freiday I will test the two versions and then I will choose the best.
Best regards from Germany

There was a study done on the different types of wingtips that I found on the net a year or two ago. It was done quite a few years back, don't remember if it was by a gov. agency or collage. In comparing the different types of tips, figures showed not a lot of difference from one to the other. I do remember that the drooped tips had a slightly better lift. I looked for the study last night and didn't find it, that's why I didn't say anything already. I was searching drooped tips when I ran across the study. Pictures were all in black and white, so it was fairly old. Jim Chuk

When I was in high school, I worked for a helicopter operator. We used lemon pledge on the heli bubbles.

Thanks,FWIW I changed out the droop tips on a KF4 , and saw no difference in performance, but did get a better view and quit banging my head ,when I walked around the plane.
That's the best, and only information, that anyone has posted.

Even if the eucalyptus oil worked the cost would be prohibitive. Starwest Botanicals sell it, purchased some a couple of years ago.

I would like to know too, My kit has the 2 piece drooped tips. when I install them I would like to cut them down a bit, I really dont care for the drooped look.

i have been using pledge on fabric for years, gives it a nice slippery coat, looks and smells nice too.

Joey,
If you have some scratches and stuff, Maguires Plastic X works good! I've been using it after I get the damn paper off my old windows and it cleans them up good! I also use it on my vehicle headlights and my Jeep soft top windows! You basically wipe on and wipe off.
See ya,
Ron
