  1. Maddin added a post in a topic VGs? Who has them and do you like them?

    Hello friends,
I have 120 small VG's bought us so now the right place for the attachment. From Aircraft Spruce: Link to www. stolspeed.com
Since some of you have already done experiments I would gladly provoke.
I have a MK4 Speedwing. The wings measure from the front edge to the rear edge 104cm (measured on the bottom.)
Where should I start (measured from the front edge) with the VG's? What is the distance between the VG's you have chosen?
The pictures with the offset VG's on the KF4 I have seen. Can not imagine, however, that is the good.
It would be best if someone had mounted VP's at Speedwings.

And the next question would be where and to what distance the VG's at the bottom of the elevator? From the front edge to the flap it is 23 cm.
Can the VG's simply be glued to the cover? Since no pressure can be exerted during gluing.
The best thing would pictures  be to help me.
    Thank you very much.

Hello friends, I have tried 3 times to answer but the store every gon lost. I think it may not my IPAD.
Thanks dholly...thats what I look for:   Forums > General Category > Avid Flyer General Hangar > Avid Build Manual > Avid Construction Manual > Manual part 2.pdf
I'm trying to get defective wings in order to repair then. If I would also install new tanks and stringing everything
But the winter 2016 has to be very cold and long to create that here.
    Greetings and thanks.

And while I built the Wings I will fly with my Speedwings. So i can't use the Flaperons from my speedwings.
I need exact plans from the ribs und the instructions to built the wing. I can remember that I have read the instructen her in the forum but now I can not find the Link.

To rebuilt the ribs is not the great problem.
And I thing I can buy the  aluminium spare parts her. My Plan is to built tanks with aluminium. So I have never a Problem with a leak tank.
I cant find the pages wirh the Instruktion for builting tehw Wings.

    Built Heavy Hauler Wings
Hello pilots, I'm considering to build Heavy Hauler Wings for my Avid Speedwing
So I could fly in Germany legally with a higher MTOW.
Where can I get a kit for it. Or is there a good guide to recreate the ribs and to get the other parts?
Especially here in Germany, I will probably not come easy to the parts. Or is there in Europe a dealer of Avid sells parts?
    Greetings from Germany

    Ski for my Avid
    Hello friends
here in Germany is approaching the winter and I want to equip my Avid on skis.
Has anyone of you an instruction manual or tip?
A simple way would be great. But the wheels must also work.
Does it make sense to equip on the spur with a small ski?

    Another question.
I've built myself the gums - a good guide for that I have found.
But I can find no strong gums throughout Germany. After a week they leave after.
Has anyone of you an address where I can buy those bungee cords?

    Greetings Martin

There is almost a faith-war between nosewheel and tailwheel. BUT the Avid sees as tailwheel simply look better.

And I will learn to flight a tailwheel. So the Avid is the right choice.

Nosewheel really is easier but who wants easy. I any case Fun.

So friends, I'm back in the air!
The 3. design of the spring has passed.
With the 912 Rotax and the Speedwings it is not so easy to land on our short runway (250m). But it goes. only when I use the brakes I'm slightly off track. But I'm learning too.
Thanks for the help and greetings Martin

In the Picture Shows the Version two of the Spring with great angle.

    Short report:
At first I bent my old (soft) spring cold with the hydraulic press. It works fine!
And now it isnt soft. The angle is very important.
    Thank younJim!
Then I cut the new old spring like Jim Chuk told.
But then I must help in my toughters new flat ( paint the wall and so on...
An Freiday I will test the two versions and then I will choose the best.
    Best regards from Germany

    Thank You very much.
Today i becoma a old spring from an van.
I must bring it in the right dimensons. But i dont try to bent the Sprig with heat.
I think this is not a homework too.
The angle is fine. Onely the length and width must be done.

    I will,report after the work.
