Well I had a bit of an exciting day today.  Taxied the Kitfox 4 for the first time.  Runs nice, felt like it would have left the ground in no time.  655 lbs and 100 HP 912 will do that I suppose.  Anyway, I'm happy.  Still got stuff to do, but it's close!  Short video as well.  JImChuk    Kitfox 4 first taxi

What cowl and boot is that Jim?

It's the Kitfox smooth cowl,  John Rogers in Id has a mold and made me one.  Because the engine sticks further forward, I had to build my own boot cowl, which I did out of fiberglass. It's pretty much the same as my flying Kitfox 4 cowl, except for length.  JImChuk

It's looking really sharp.  I'll bet it'll be a real flyer at that weight and 100 HP.  Hopefully there will be a fist flight report before the snow sets in.

Was about 75 yesterday, 55 today, and supposed to get to about 35 tomorrow.  No storms though, and snow is pretty well all gone.  My strip even dried up  enough that I got to go flying Wednesday.... It was nice.  Hope you dodge the T storms and such further south of us.  JImChuk

It was close we had an F3 Tornado touch down 5 miles from our place in Wisconsin destroyed a lot but thankfully no damage at our place and none of our neighbors got hurt.

Do to the longer motor mount for the engine, I am a little light in the tail on the new Kitfox 4.  Have to add 10 lbs there.  It still will end up at about 665 lbs though, so not a real heavy Kitfox4.  This is the mount and weight I built.  The same thing should work for anyone needing weight on an Avid, as the tail structure is the same in that area.  JImChuk

PS, ended up coming in at 669.6 lbs.  Funny thing, I wrote this message a few weeks ago, and couldn't up load the pictures.  Wonder if it will work now?   It didn't work.  Well here is something else then.  Will need to do a better one but I took this video this evening.   Latest Kitfox 4 walkaround
