Most Cub guys running 31's use the Cleveland double puck brakes. If you have double puck brakes I am sure they are ample. 26's are a lot smaller than 31's so single puck's may be adequate but don't know for sure. They will probably work OK but may not put you on your nose. Sometimes that's a good thing as least until you get used to the plane.

Another Question...
I'm planning on putting 26" ABW tires on my Magnum. I currently have Cleveland brake calipers and disc style brakes. Are these sufficient for use with the big tires?
Also, I saw that some guys were upgrading their brake pedals. Any suggestions on which pedals to buy?
Thanks,
Ron

Okay. We're on a roll.
I'm thinking a Wednesday luncheon. What say everyone?

I do not think fuel burn is much of a concern for most of us. I have a feeling most pilots don't log that many hours a year to make that much difference.

What looks good on the ground may not be as visible in the air - we need to look at it both ways.
I think I said before that the most visible plane I ever saw in the air was a solid black MU2 with red stripes.
I am certainly not suggesting that our fabric and glue planes should be all black like the all-metal, air-conditioned MU2 - in Missouri heat the glue might melt right after the pilot!

Im down for maintenance right now and I want to add the electric fuel pump as a backup. I know Leni and others with the 582 have the setup with dual pumps. I guess series and parallel is my own choice as Mike Stratman said in one of his articles, how are you guys set up. Pulse or electric first? Series or Parallel?

Good looking paint job - I really wanted to say that some big black stripes/shapes would really set it off - but didn't want to be critical sounding.

Ed, I wouldn't worry to much about being to critical, I'm always open to ideas from others. the paint you see here is not exactly like we had it drawn up to be. I had input from others while we were painting and I'm sure glad we did, I think it looks even better than we had designed it to be.

Sorry to hear that.. My condolences to your wife and family. That region is not very forgiving of an airplane in trouble. There are not many options for setting it down in one piece over some pretty hostile terrain.

Thanks Lenny and Ed for the acknowledgements and kind words! Great day! Sadn'd earlier in the week as wife's nephew lost power on takeoff in Kodiak. Air nation.net-Papua Indonesia plane crash.

While researching to begin wiring my Avid I found these videos from SteinAir and thought others might benefit from watching them as well. http://www.youtube.com/user/shbruch/videos sure makes some of the smaller connections seem much easier than I was expecting especially for the ray allen trim system

If anyone is looking for a good buy on an airplane other than Avid/Fox check out the Emeraude listed on Barnstormers. I flew this plane yesterday and. If I were in the market for a third airplane this would be the one.

I just took some cordura and stitched up a new black sling, they are simple to make took about an hour including putting in the grommets for the string. about a yard of fabric.

thanks for the comments. We're very excited to see it coming along. the paint booth was a friend of a friends and worked out awesome. really helps to have that kind of lighting, ventilation, and temp control. Colors used were Juneau White and Sport Yellow. we are going to pin stripe everywhere the two come together probably with a nice black to make the yellow pop off the white. It really shines in the sun already.

Mine was dyed but the dye has faded, doesn't look very good anymore. I like the sling seat pretty good, that being said has anyone had theirs reupholstered?

Those towbars can be real handy. Do you recognize the tongue of my tilt bed ski transport trailer? It discinnects with two pins.
