For that engine you could use .049 and .058 4130. Here is mine I just finished it up tonight its for the 582 but gives you an idea. They don't take to long.

Perfect video.  Thanks  Do I just use 4130 for the tubing?  What are those tubes made of that the bolts go through.  Also is tig welding it together okay?

I need to make a motor mount for my o-200 but I don't want to pay exorbitant prices to a aircraft shop.  Are those mounts made of 4130?  I know that a Cessna 150 mount is very light.  Is there a special kind of welding needed or is tig okay.  Where do I get the tips that the bolts go through to mount to the fuselage like in the picture.  Below is a picture of a Merlin GT that I took pictures of with a C-85.

Just need your help to get this mount started.

How about this one?  Pretty similar, but easier mounting with the supplied nut and gasket.  You have to be careful to get the correct sex on the pins for each half and make sure you get the solder cup version.  Available from Digi-Key or Mouser.

I am ready to install the finishing tapes on the ribs of my tail feathers (using the Stewart System).

After gluing (2" tapes), is there anything else required?  Any final ironing over the tapes or maybe just in local spots for a better lay down?

    Larry S.

If your using the Stewarts primer you'll iron the pinked edges of the tapes after the primer coats and, before you put on a topcoat. Besides that there's no need to iron the tapes unless you see small air bubbles or wrinkles in the tape.

I'm no electrical expert, but I always liked the looks of these:

They are used on some american cars, but I can't remember where I saw them. They are available with 2 to 6 pins, and have a weather tight seal. They are just plastic, so pretty light. I've never used them, but I plan to at some point.

Luked, I'll sell you an Avid B airframe that's finished, covered, painted, certified, N-numbered and flown for that price. Los Angeles area, less than 900 miles from you, a few minutes off I-5

No joke, this airframe simply won't work with the engine I wanted to use, and so I'll buy something else that will work instead of cutting and modifying this one.
