I don't remember exactly, but think mine was under $100 - direct from Kitfox.  They came out with the KF4.
I removed it to extend my leading edges - guess it is still useable - maybe one crack to repair - make me an offer if you cant get them anymore.  They come in 2 pieces for each wing - total of 4 pcs.  I also have template for attaching them and will include one, and instructions, and you can make more of them - you need about 4 or 6.

    plastic leading edge
You guys have mentioned the plastic leading edge. Do you get that right through kitfox and do you know what it costs. I looked through the catalog but didn't see anything other than the fiberglass leading edge wrap that costs around $1000 bucks, don't need to spend that on my bird.

All original 1984 - Builder should have traded it in for a 582 when Denny made the offer of exchange. I didn't move anything that wasn't on wheels.

I was planning on just using the one hole in it to run to a 3 way splitter that I have.

I have 2 of these splitters. but I dont like the set up on my avid, it makes the throttle pretty stiff and I have to use a couple springs to put tension on the lever under the cowling.  It works, but its kind of hokey to me.  I think the KF set up and using the 3 way splitter will make a super smooth throttle set up.

    The question would be: Why?

The super stol wing needs them due to flying in a High angle of attack with flow separation over the ailerons.

By their nature, our flapperons are always flying in high pressure air below and behind the wing. They have full control even when the main wing is deeply stalled.

There is a good discussion with photos of the mechanism in the wings forum.

I don't know if you can make out the small slots and holes for the cable ends that attach to this bellcrank - Looks like PIA to make, but possible.

    ]Leni,
Can you find the 532 where the throttle controls are located? Look far left, lower back corner - I got it out for you. Will try to post photos in files and forms - looks like a small PIA to make.
    Will ship it this week.

Looking good, you've incorporated some neat ideas and improvements. I'm no engineer but I wonder if it would make sense to add one or two more side gussets under the doors to the rear vs. the weight penalty? Or, even though you won't initially be using bungee gear, maybe a couple gussets in that side-to-side, under seat, bridge truss while you're at it (we both have experience with that truss ). One thing I do know, it will never be any easier than now and I would be kicking myself in the future if it ever became an issue! Also, you might consider making the two triangular sheet metal panels that the flaperon push/pull tubes pass through easy on/off (velcro?) so you can do inspections or retrieve wayward objects without removing the seat pan (ever drop a nut or safety pin when disconnecting the push/pull tubes when folding/unfolding wings, grrrr!). So what color powdercoat are you thinking?

Just Aircraft Offers SuperSTOL Spoilers Kit
This story was in the EAA news feed yesterday. I would like to see how the control mechanism works. If the spoilers link to the SuperSTOL ailerons (vs. flaps), maybe possible to retrofit our flaperon systems with a bit of thought...

    Yellow Complete!!!
I put the last coat of yellow on the engine Cowlings tonight!
I'm going to paint my flaperons black then put the engine cowlings on the fuse and paint my stripes. I feel like I've made a huge leap forward!
    Getting closer to getting airborne...

    Well, here she is.

We've begun the process of tearing her down again.  I'm hoping to get her out for media blast and powder coat in the next couple of weeks.  Then, final assembly.

The goal of flying her this year seems attainable.  At least today it does.

I have to get some help to dig it out - maybe take some time. Let me know what you want to give for it in good, used condition including or not including manifold parts - you have to determine what is airworthy.LEAF wants $250 for just one part of the manifold.

Sorry about that Leni - This shoulder injury has caused the muscles in my right arm to dry up - PIA to not be able to do the things I could do 3 years ago. A gallon is about my limit - Not drinking, Just lifting! Still have pains

Bob has a Brolga prop on the Mod I that performs very well.  But you can't get the prop anymore.

If its going to be spring, I may just fab one of my own based off the KF one.  Should take more than a couple hours, I was just being lazy is all

OK - Now you have snagged the old man - What is a magic prop? If you don't want it made public, then PM me. I had a security clearance issued.
    Leni,
I probably cant get to the engine until spring when I can get some help - My right arm does good to lift a Bud Lite, and that's about all I can do with it.
