Looped,  I sent you a private message yesterday.  Don't know if you noticed it or not.  I just discovered or maybe rediscovered and forgot where to look for private messages on this site.  It seems I had at least one that was a month old.  (sorry)  Look at the very top of the screen close to your name.  Thanks,  Jim Chuk

You can also set your preferences to pop a window up whenever you log onto the site and you have a new message.

I sort of got the idea that conditions were not good up there when I had to keep the car plugged in and go out and start it every two hours in Fairbanks when it was minus 70F - Then again when Jim West and I drove up from Barrow in minus 50F and blowing snow and we stopped at the sign that says "NO vehicles past this point - Danger, Polar Bears", and could hardly make out the road on the way back.  Anchorage seemed like an Ocean Resort compared to that.

My cousin lives on Big Lake and I have a good buddy that a retired flying trooper that lives on Long Lake.  How long ago did you move out?

I have snooped around the Washington / Oregon / Idaho real estate sites looking for a possible winter area to play at for a few months a year.  Some damn pretty country down there.  Last time I was on the Oregon coast I was 15

    Ron,

Don't tell anyone that name - I sometimes use it when money is involved - and again, there may be a few lost loves looking for J. Edward Smith, or some other names I may have used!

Sorry we didn't get together before you put all the effort into making an IP.  Maybe we will make another trade someday.

    Thanks,

    EDMO

    Ed,

I'm an idiot! I'm going to have to slow down and read! Ha! I just sent you a message on ebay asking if you were related to Ed! Ha! Ha!

Your formal first name threw me off for a second! Too funny!

    I'll mail those off tomorrow!

Maybe you and I should just start trading stuff...we will have the Feds after us with our money passing back and forth to each other!

    See ya,

    Ron

Had a great time at the fly in this weekend, was nice meeting Suber Avid.  For those that don't already know Randy is  a class act and build a very nice airplane.  Was a pleasure to make a new friend.  You guys should try to get here next year  I think Randy would agree its worth the trip.

Mine is loud and will be even louder because I removed the 1" thick black heavy insulation from the firewall that was disintegrating. Airplanes are just loud, especially fun ones!!!!! Bryce

going for fast cruise in a slow plane makes about as much sense as putting an elevator in an outhouse :lmao:

Of course I say that as I am thinking of going to a long speed wing or KF IV wing rib to get a bit more speed and not give away STOL

    :BC:

Hey now I had an elevator and joy stick in my out house on Big Lake Ak,For when I got fogged in or snowed in and couldn't fly.

It's like using a practice tree for Drag Racing.

I like being high in either sport.

Finally had to move to Long Lake when it go to crowded on Big Lake.

Looped I just clipped the radio to the left side of my panel with the belt clip and used some foam and velcro to hold it securely. It's powered by the C-20 DC cigarette lighter power supply. The PTT and intercom is sold by Pilot USA. The antenna was in the plane when I got it so not sure about a brand. The ICOM is pretty user friendly. I have all my frequently used frequencies pre-programmed in so I can just roll thru them with the knob on top.

    Hey guys,

As I scramble for $ to finish my project, I have put some left over things from a different project up for sale.

I priced everything very fairly and some downright cheap considering most of them are close to brand new.

    Brake calipers, discs, cylinders

    Intercom

    Tail wheels

    Leaf springs

    Gas tank sealer kits

It is all listed on Ebay

Here is a link to the brakes, then you can click on the "see other items" under ColoradoDavidson2012

My book shows the straw going in through the bottom but there is no hole anywhere so I guess it could possibly go either way :dunno:  is there a better tank I should be looking for to be more reliable, I sure don't want to be getting any air in the system. I will be adding some sound deadening material at some point in the future just trying to get the papers signed off at this point so I can fly it. was thinking of adding the material to the engine side and possibly some in the foot wells of the inside to keep the heat from the exhaust out. these ones will be removable for added heat in the winter.
