It is a centrifugal clutch.  Engaged by increasing engine crankshaft rpm.

    Jim,
That cannot be a "working shop" - You can see the floor! I think there may be a law against that in Missouri!
The fiberglass intake may be in one of my "Contact" mags, which are all over the place, in boxes, etc. Cant find it in other books.

    I've got it covered......
Well at least one side of one wing.  Got everything fixed in the wing that needed repairs, and just couldn't resist.  Started slapping fabric on it.  AND PLEASE ! no funny remarks about my shop.  LOL   Couple of pics.   Still kind of cold in my neck of the woods, I think I'll put all the fabric on plus finish tapes on everything, and by then maybe it will be warm enough on some days where I can pull outside air though the garage while I spray everything.  My heat in the garage will never keep up if it's cold outside and  I run an exhaust fan.  Jim Chuk

Allows the engine to idle at half the rpm and start much easier with no load on it. Also allows for steeper approaches with the prop freewheeling.

I really don't know what cowl I have, but think it is a KF5 continental (maybe 912?) since I got the Speedster tips with it.
I could post some measurements and maybe you can tell me what it is.
Yes, the Magnum is a LOT bigger than ours - I plan on lots of cutting, or overlapping.
I think the Magnum floor is 36" wide compared to my 32"?
Maybe I can post a photo or three, and you can get them enlarged and work some sort of ideas?
    EdMO
I think my soob is 24" from flat firewall to just shy of prop flange.

But you're using a KF-4 'smooth' cowl set, right Ed? My A+ fuse is quite a bit wider than your Foxy fuse. Either way, if the Magnum fuse and boot is wider than both, it would be easy enough to split the boot for the perfect width.

    Doug,
I will be trying to mate it to the Kitfox smooth cowl - But yours will probably be finished and flying before I get back to my fuselage.
I'm working to get struts, flaps, ailerons built.
I've got parking for a motorhome in the back driveway - Just "Come on down!"

Landed a cool new spot today 12 miles from the airport. Just a random off airport spot but the grass was nicer than some strips I've been to.Had a sweet bend in the middle.  Flowers are in full bloom in CA. Couldn't of asked for a nicer day.

I had the same issue on my KF3 so I have to ask the obvious... if it is the nut end of the bolt hitting the fuse tubing, did you swap out the bolt with a clevis or pan head bolt and reverse the bolt direction? Simple, worked for me.

Larry,We have heard of one pedal being so close to the fabric that the bolt wouldn't go in -
My quick-thought is to cut off 1/2" or so from the other end of the cross tube, and use washers and a longer bolt to shim the nylon part over to match the tube.
Or, weld the cutoff part on the other end.
Also, check your cable to make sure it lines up with the front fairlead next to the front of the seat - some of these have worn thru the nylon and destroyed the cable by rubbing the metal tube.

Left Rudder Pedal Cable Attach Hardware Interfernce with Fuselage
Making slow progress on a Model III.  When installing the rudder pedals and hardware I find the left rudder pedal (pilot side) is too close to the nearest vertical fuselage frame tube resulting in interference between the rudder cable hardware and the vertical frame tube.  Right side (copilot - outboard) is fine.   Looks to be about 1/4" to 3/8" too close.  Anyone seen this one before?   Larry S.

Dusty, you correct on that.. I stated it wrong.  Yes you could put the clutch on the E box, but then the starter would not work so you have a more expensive gear box sans starter.  The best route is to just get the C box and put the clutch in it.  Either way you loose the ability to prop the plane should you find yourself with a dead battery unless you drill and tap the clutch bell so you can run a few set screws into the clutch towers in the event that you need to hand prop it.
