What you say.  I'm finding this is the most comfortable to operate in.
Now my concern is a deadstick scenario.  Better to be thinking in terms of clear area immediately below.

It's bitter sweet.  I got a lil of the sentimental side to me as well.  I find it very hard to turn loose of something that has brought me great pleasure (except for the wives)   Sowmachines, boats, airplanes.. I tend to hang onto forever.

Glad it went to a good home and that you will still get visitation!

Welcome to the forum, looking forward to hearing your adventures and thoughts on flying the bird.  I too get lots of looks when I am hauling my plane.  Stopping at the gas station to fill up jugs with the plane behind me always turns into a long BS session with someone at also at the pumps.

Spendy lil buggers.  My penny tech streamers have been working fine in the meanwhile.  But, maybe another one of those lil winter boredom-blues projects to fiddle with my scrap aluminum.
Of course the real value in EDMO's thread/posting was to force him to sort out his "worry-free" camera -:)  Nicely done sir.

WOW - 145 mph on a C-85!  We need Buttercup wings on our slow AvidFoxes!  I would bet that it don't slow down as quickly as our wings tho...

At least it didn't go far.  I'll allow you visitation if you'd like.
I really do appreciate your help with everything and I'm looking forward to participating more on the forums as I get to know this new lady in my life.
It was certainly an interesting ride home.  I thought it was going to cause an accident with all the people slowing down to take pictures of it.

I'll never know how much, if any, I left on the table Joey. It was an 'unadvertised' sale, obviously at a fair price to each but I wanted it to go to someone I felt good about and stay somewhat local so I could see and fly it again (cheesy maybe, but I get emotionally attached to things after putting a lot of sweat equity into it). New owner is a great guy from a flying family and I really think he will enjoy and treat it right. Besides, after recouping somewhat from my back injury, I had decided to get off my ass and finish the Aerotrek before next spring. I can't think of a stronger motivator than to sell my only flying airplane. And let's face facts, there is no competing with Jim Chuk on # of projects in the barn. He is the King!

I thought the F7A was only an Avid thingy?  Where does it go in the Kitfoxes?  Any photos of complete installation?
What does it replace?  Sorry, guess I haven't paid attention because I don't have an Avid - only clones...

That's the part I always try and stress to folks and the reason I end up high and fast every time I jump in a spam can. These things decelerate so quick it's not even funny.

Well today is cold and wet with the wind blowing sideways as what's left of Hurricane Patricia blows through. It's pretty miserable out, as miserable a day as any I suppose to come clean.
    I sold my KF4.

I too have flown the KF I, II and III without the F7a.  It is not a miracle cure, but it does allow you to use more flaperon before you get into the controversial roll reversal scenario.  It also allows the feet to be a bit more relaxed.  I would rather have all the flaperon I can get without roll reversal and that's why I am running the F7A mod.  The 60/60 rule of thumb is pretty good, but I normally yank on the flaps when I show 35 on the ASI then bleed them off as I accelerate in ground affect to 55 or 60.  Getting those wheels off the ground will dump a lot of drag and get you to climb out speed quicker than letting it build up to 60 on the ground.
I also fly down wind and all the way to short final around 80 indicated (when at the airport).  Then when I have the threshold made I pull the power and get in the flaperons and can slow to 45 in a VERY short distance and touchdown is around 40 or so with a touch of power.
One of these days I need to get the gopro set up in the plane and do a few laps around the pattern and see what my speeds truly are because I barely glance a the dash once I am in the pattern, its all by sound and feel for me.

    Warning:
    -------------------------
When we have lawyers who design their practice around phone banks, something is wrong. The phone bank takes telephone calls answering saturation TV advertising about whatever-type-litigation-of-the-day, non-lawyers take the calls and then they farm out the lawsuits... it's a lawsuit mill. Some states have pursued tort reform but we desperately need national Tort Reform in this country to do away with outrageous 'shotgun' lawsuits. A small business can go broke winning a lawsuit because of the cost and time involved.
I like the English' rule where the loser pays but I don't believe that alone will work. The big problem is that in many abusive lawsuits the plaintiff cannot pay. Even if you win a judgment you can't get blood out of a rock. I think combining the Engilsh rule with elimination of the comparative negligence joint and several liability rule (where it makes no difference whether you were only one percent negligent if you were the only one with deep pockets) to help insulate businesses (ie. Exp. Aircraft Kit manufacturers) from negligence claims so long as their product was used as approved (ie. by FAA) and the manufacturer does not know their product had been tampered with (ie. globbing on RTV to seal threaded fittings in a fuel system).
Still not enough. Limit non-economic loss damage awards and punitive damage awards, capping that on a sliding scale based on the size of a defendant corporation. Most importantly, new limits on trial lawyer contingency fees would work wonders. Put the plaintiff's attorney on the hook for loser fees along with his client so to speak. This would be a huge help, particularly in the medical field when doctors are retiring at a record pace because they keep facing record malpractice claims. If my doctor goes out of business it hurts me, my daughter already has to travel over an hour to see her new doctor thanks to Obamacare (and what asshat coined the phrase 'Affordable Health Care Act' ?, don't even get me started on the ridiculously high premiums this pile of trash legislation caused her, no wonder they have to threaten you with even higher fines to comply).
Aggrieved people who think they have been injured would still have the right to go to court and seek remedy to be made whole, and innocent people might be free from threat of frivolous but life destroying litigation. Pretty much everyone agrees on this so Tort Reform should be simple, right? Don't hold your breath. There was a book written not too many years ago that called trial lawyers the third political party in America because they gave Democratic candidates more money than the Democratic Party gave Democratic candidates, literally. The lawyers are dug in, cornered with their backs against the wall. And they are smart.

I hope this shyster loses in court.  The thief who started this BS was the one who sued Piper and got $50million when some guy did a bad loop in a 40-year-old Cub years ago.  Insurance doubled...That's why so many attorneys become politicians:

    Her Attorney
Sitting in my hanger yesterday morning I saw what appeared to be a giant camper mounted on a pickup truck rolling by out of the corner of my eye.  It was quiet all morning at the field so I welcomed the thought of potential new company.  The giant camper in reality was a small camper on a very small, very old Dastun pickup.  Its owner an ultralight pilot and overall neat guy with a historical hanger filled with fun.  He offered the hand I was waiting for to take the wings off my truck.  During a lull in conversation I noticed the back of his unit:

Rumor is that the accident was caused by a fuel flow sender installed backwards?
Sad about the results but if is true, what did Vans have to do with the installation.
An attorney called a while back to sue me because his client was bitten by the dog that resides in a rental property I own.
I asked why he did not go after the dogs owner.
He said the the dogs owner did not have any money and I probably did since I owned the house.
Also, he said I was negligent in allowing a mean dog to live in one of my rentals.
I had no idea the renter had a dog let alone mean.
I told him he was a vulture, who my insurance company was and we never heard form him again.

Steve, the guy who owns Whirlwind Props (both companies) had an article about his in either KP or SA a while back.  I asked him about his bushings and he shared info with me about them.  I don't know how the Wittman "Buttercup", an earlier design compares, but think now someone has put this back on the market as a kit.  I just got new KP mag and haven't checked the listings for plans or kits yet.  There was a Tailwind project for sale not long ago.

I see that Spruce sells the kit for Wittman W10 Tailwind - Havent found who is selling Buttercup kits.
