Posted 19 Dec 2019 Ski time i think. Had it outside b4 what now is -15 and they say we headed to -25/-30 for a week or so, guess its time to go back to cleaning up gold from the last cleanup of the sluicebox. Hahhaaaaaa 1 person likes this
Posted 20 Dec 2019 All rigged, just need some plugs for the brakelines so can remove the calipers. Now just needs to warmup, 1 person likes this
Posted 20 Dec 2019 I put a 1/4" thick aluminum spacer in that has one bolt holding it in place. That way the brakes stay bleed and ready for when I put the wheels back on. In fact, I do the same thing on the Chief which also has hydraulic brakes. If you happen to touch the brake pedals, it just pushes the brake pads against the spacer. Posted 20 Dec 2019 (edited) I do agree Jim, and Leni mentioned that also, But ive always taken them off, same as my family has always done thro the yrs, extra weight? HahahahaaaaaaaAnyways im going to remove them for winter, main reason is it has Matco M1 and they weak and one likes to stick and make the right brake drag, so think ill buy some Matco M5 like on my BlackBird. Ive already rewelded the tab on brakepedal to match the other plane brake geometry so just need some M5. At my house this am it -28 Edited 20 Dec 2019 by Buckchop
Posted 17 Jan 2020 Well finished up the tests for here at the mine, think shes finally ready to take to the airport and fly when a buddy gets avaliable and the weather is decent. So far she handles awesome taxing around, and the muffler heater works great!!! Hahahaaaa 3 people like this

Posted 19 Jan 2020 I am getting ready to bring a Kitfox home in the next couple of months. Can you tell me what size the hole is that is in the tail you used for the scissor jack pin? Hope the flight testing goes well!
Posted 19 Jan 2020 The cross tubes in the back of the plane that a hitch can attach to are 5/16" inside diameter. I have had to run a drill through them at times though, cause the weld bubbled in a bit and the bolt wouldn't go through. JImChuk 1 person likes this
Posted 19 Jan 2020 Make sure to lubricate that bit real good, it can be tough drilling through a weld!!!Kk 2 people like this
Posted 19 Jan 2020 Yea its a real basturd to drill, lots of lube, a GOOD quality bit, and take ur time, and drill slow, if u break a bit off in there ur pretty much screwed, im sure b a pain to get it out, ive come close to doing it and it will sure get ur attention. 2 people like this
Posted 14 Mar 2020 SHE FLYS!!!! Well took the bluefox to NP to do test taxi ect. First time out it surprised me and was 20’ off the ground right away, set it back down and taxied back to truck for a short breather. Hahhaaaaa later i went back to it and flew it up and down runway about 1’-2’ above the ground a bunch of times did real good put on about 1.5hrs, but found out my airspeed gauge doesnt work. Will have to check the lines and then the gauge, i belive its the gauge u can s some parts layin on the bottom of the inside just behind the glass and faceplate. U can c my buddies yellow and blue Stol King in the background. 2 people like this
Posted 14 Mar 2020 1 to 2 feet off the ground that will make a stol drag pilot out of you there. 1 person likes this
Posted 15 Mar 2020 Well Tjay im not to interested in that Stol Drag stuff, tho it is fun to watch for a little while, but id like to one day carry my tail around and control the plane on tires like Steve Henry. Hahahahahaaaaa
Posted 19 Mar 2020 (edited) Well an old buddy of mine gave me this a yr ago, now that plane is done i think its time to customize my helmet. (It already matched the plane color, thats one big reason he said it needed to belong to me) and my Daughter just started up a s custom sticker business from her home so had her make me up some stuff for it. Stay tuned for the finish helmet. Do u guys where one? Edited 20 Mar 2020 by Buckchop
Posted 20 Mar 2020 Well got the stripes and stars on. Looks pretty awesome i think. Once i get this one back together ill have to decide on something custom for my david clark helmet. The camel tan they come in isnt my favorite. Hahahaaa
Posted 9 Dec 2020 Well as much as it broke my heart, had a wet eyeball, or two, and not in best mood now, i sold Kitfox number 0021 today. To a very nice guy in Wasilla named Jon.Didnt need to sell it, gold mining was good to me this yr, just did cause who needs 3 flyin planes when i only got to fly 1.9 hrs all summer cause of the mine. Best that she gets used up (Hahahahaaa) with the love from another than sit here and not get flown. So here a few good pic i collected over the last 4yrs ive owned her of Leni, Brian, Me, and my two want-to-b copilots. ps- i still have the Bluefox THANKS TO ALL OF U AND MERRY CHRISTMAS
Posted 10 Dec 2020 Maybe kind of a rough bunch here for poetry, but I'm reminded of a poem I read years ago. It comes to mind when someone sells a plane they liked. JImChukThe Arab’s Farewell to His Steed | The Equinest 1 person likes this
Posted 10 Dec 2020 Those co-pilots look like they have lots of character, all bad, if they are anything like the Dachshunds that we'owned or should I say owned us. 2 people like this
