    Push Pull tube interfearance
    I'm building a C model Avid and I'm not sure if I should worry about this or not,,,At the rear push pull tube where the forked connector attaches to the elevator horn,, The through bolt hits the frame so the elevator can only deflect nose down approx 15 degrees or a bit less. Not the 17 degrees Avid states in the manual.

    I dont have my manual right here but the rubber bands only hold the cables up so they're not hanging loose under the plane. I don't think it matters where you attach them.

    I'm not sure of the strengths but I was reading an article recently saying the AN bolts are grade 10.9

    I was thinking that hardness would make them brittle but??

    I'd appreciate any photos you guys might have as far as FWF of a 912 install or just ideas or concerns that may help the process. I'm working on getting my engine mount painted and I'm trying to come up with some ideas on routing of all the hoses and wireing.

    As it is I need to change the direction of all the upper water returns on my engine because the expansion tank is to far back and interfears with the mount. I also have to change the direction of the lower tubes on the water pump because they're pointed straight at the mount.

    Unless your making your own mount and cowl, I was told the VW with redrive woun't fit inside due to moving the thrust line.

    I can't answer your question but I'm glad you asked it. I was just looking at the two belly sheets I have for my model c a couple days ago and wondering the best way to install them around the lower gear supports.

    I'm in the process of finishing up the second wing on my model c Aerobat-speedwing and I decided to put 3' extensions on. I'm hoping to have the best of both worlds. Unfortunately after 22 years we just noticed the kit was shipped with 3/4" struts instead of the 7/8" that were ordered and included on my parts list.

    I was planning on using the Rotax 582 but the HKS has me second guessing that decision. Anyone here have experience with the engine first hand or just an opinion?

    To me it looks like the 582 and the HKS are about the same HP at a cruise power setting but the HKS uses half the gas, no 2 cycle oil, has a 1000 hr TBO with reasonably priced parts and you dont need a bunch of special tools to take the engine apart like the rotax.

    If theres a coating of hysol on both parts when there glued up and rivited this should be a non issue. The hysol will keep them from reacting.

    I'm building a model C and should have the MK4 cowl in the next few weeks. My plan is to put a 582 into the plane but I don't have an engine yet. I'm just trying to get some ideas on whats out there and I have'nt had much luck locating pictures of radiator setups besides the twin radiator setup inside the cowl of the mk4.
