I was looking and the plans anywhere, with the original header, there are no vents, but I guess is not necessary to vent the header when is only 2 liter or so; this one is almost 15Lt, that´s why I have 2 connections on top, one for fuel flow AN6 and a smaller AN4 for vent. I thought about route it back to the tank, but I think is more complicated, I will make a independent vent, somehow routed it to the top of the fuselage.
I will post pictures once the installation is done... right now I´m having a Chritsmas RUSH!!

We really do appreciate all the help from this forum. My friend and I have been working his Kitfox 5 and I guess since it has pulleys he thought the Avid might too.
We don't have a build Manual for the Avid it so I'll download it off the site and hopefully it will show us what we might be missing. We have to cover parts on the KF and
were going to cover some of the Avid parts while were at it. Hence needing the Elevator !!
I've made a deal with C. Stauffer on his C Model Avid and when we get it home, that will give us a complete one to compare too as well.
The B Model he bought has Speed Wings and we are definitley gonna have some questions on those suckers, so stay tuned in.

I used to have a big folder of "Dumb Blonde Jokes" - here is one I remember:
A dumb blonde went to a body shop to see about repairing dents in her car.
The mechanic told her, "Get down on your knees and blow the pipe and your dents will come out".
Ignoring his sexual intent, she rushed home and got on her knees and started blowing into the tailpipe.
Her sister asked her what she was doing, and she said that she was blowing out the dents.
Her Dumb Blonde sister said, "Duh, You got to roll up the windows first!"

A dumb blonde called the fire department and said that her house was on fire.
The fireman asked, "How do we get there?"
Dumb Blonde, "Duh, in a big red firetruck!" and hung up on him.

ahhh... I see what got your blood pressure up. I can see it taking a turn for the worse now. I didn't even look, has ZZZ moved it to hot air yet?
I already have a reply to him ready, I'm just waiting to hit send

ohoh, I will have to go take a field trip and see what kind of liberal shit he is talking about now.
Funny, I got a ton of jokes and pictures off his blog that he thought was derogatory to women pilots... I thought they were funny as hell
Field trip to BCP guys!

Some later Kitfoxes had a pulley on each side for the rudder cables - wonder if someone borrowed that idea on this Avid?

I'm home sick today, so I gotta poke a few BCP'ers with a stick again.

unless the builder did something on his own, there are no pulleys in the control system. Just a few bushings.

Wild Bill,
Just a suggestion - The elevator and stabilizer are usually a matched set - He should consider getting them both together.

Thanks, Robert !!
He's for sure going to need the Elevator. It was all rusted out cause it had been stored on the ground. Need Rudder cables, and all the cable
pulleys for it too. Not sure on the rest. He has a 503 he intends to hang on it but that could change. I'll get a list together as soon as I can.
But with your list of items and the ones from Mr. Chuk he should be able to to get a good start on this project.

You might look for MK IV tail feathers thats what I did, they were a direct fit to my B and now I have more surface area for the control surfaces. just a thought. I have some B parts still available from my build that I'm not using if you're interested shoot me a list of what you're looking for. have ELT, rotax exhaust, spars, nose fuel tank, coolant tank, and other misc parts can't quite remember what all off the top of my head right now would have to take a look would be happy to help if i can.

tank looks nice but on a different note, is there any provision for venting it back to one of the wing tanks, I didn't see a fitting for this in your picture.

Anyone happen to have any manuals or knowledge on wiring the old two D plug style connectors on a GRT EIS unit ? The newer units had one bigger D connector but this one has two smaller one. I've been able to match up one to the engine inputs (egt, oil ps,cht i etc). The second connector just has three wires so I'm assuming one is power, one is ground and the third goes to the warning light but they are not marked and I don't want to hook them up wrong and let the magjc smoke out. The folks at GRT are looking but so far havent been able to find anything!
Thanks,
EG

I took my finger strainer out and have a filter in the main line and a filter on each line before it goes into the carbs.

I have a newly completed F7A ready to ship. $85 shipping included in the USA. These are professionally TIG welded with replaceable studs on the pushrods. Workmanship is first grade. Dimitri has purchased a set and I am sure he will be glad to tell you about the quality. PM me if you are interested or have questions.

Enjoy the Rotax secondary muffler, it burns out pretty quick and pipes get much louder!
