Getting a replacement AWC is pretty easy if it's legally registered already.

I would sure have him get that copy of the airworthiness certificate before making the purchase if it were me.

Lost airworthiness certificateI’m looking to buy an avid heavy hauler that the owner said he lost the airworthiness certificate. Owner said getting a copy/new certificate is just a request from FAA. The N number shows registered on FAA site but hasn’t been been kept up to date. Plane looks to be in flying condition. I’m willing to have an annual inspection completed to have some assurance.

Great shot of my friend Paul Buss' Mark 4!
He has since rebuild the fuselage to include an extended and lowered footwell. I hope to talk him into brining it back again.

sndye117 added a post in a topic Another broken flaperon hanger
I realize this thread is a bit old, but unfortunately it has resurfaced with paramount importance for me... I'll post pictures later, but long story short I found a broken flaperon hanger this spring when swapping over from skis to wheels. And this one broke right at the trailing edge of my wing, so I'll definitely be opening up some fabric to splice in a new rib tail
A few years ago I had to do the same thing on a different flaperon hanger and this thread helped me make that repair! So thank you guys! But ever since then I've been meaning to go back and reinforce the rest of them with with aluminum, but... flying is just too much fun so naturally I procrastinated the project and now... well.. here we are... "another broken flaperon hanger".
Durham66, I happen to have access to a waterjet and I like the idea of cutting a bunch of these aluminum covers out all at once. I admit I'm a little confused as to where the bend lines are on your template though. If you still have that dxf file, I would love to see it and maybe use it for my repair/reinforcements if able. Did you end up putting these on your Kitfox? If so how did you like them, and do you have any pictures?
Here's a picture of my previous broken hanger from 2020. I'll keep you all updated and send more pictures of the current repair as it progresses.

Looks like the second time damage was done there. Or maybe there was a crack at the bottom that started with the first incident. Infilling the area should strengthen it up. Wonder if there is any other damage??

To co-sign on the need for this modification, here is what a gopher hole on the taxiway of a grass strip did to my seat truss. Having 4130 Chromoly welded in throughout this whole section on both sides.

I have a couple of two blade IVO ultralight model left hand props. 64" and 72". IVOs are pretty easy to cut down. Do you need the hub to fit a 2 stroke gear box? JImChuk

Yes that is surprising that the nose gear doesn't appear to be bent. And then if the plane goes all the way over without the nose gear flattening out, the whole plane will be that much higher in the air when it starts coming down on it's back. The tail doesn't appear to be bent much either which I would expect to see. Sad to see all the way around at any rate. JImChuk

Sounds like they made a successful landing but tagged a road sign which spun them around and they nosed over slowly.
I'm amazed the nose gear has no discernible damage.

In the one picture, it looks like the prop is angled to the side. Wonder if the crank broke or what? Not completely uncommon for VWs from what I've read. Glad they aren't hurt to bad, maybe they can rebuild the plane. In a way, it doesn't look to be real badly damaged. JImChuk

This happened in my home town, about an hour from me now. The pilot and passenger were injured but not life threatening, thank God.
Looks like another VW engine failure...

meglin added a post in a topic Wanted: 3 blade prop for 582
As for the 66.9" diameter, experience with about half a thousand of these screws has shown that this size is ideal for the Rotax-582/2.58.
Moreover, the same size is also good for the 912/2.27. It was only the switch to the 912/100 that required a single-digit switch to 68.9" or larger.
Nevertheless, when a small 3-bladed 63" was forced onto the 912/100 aircraft - it had a great season, and was described by the crew as very quiet.
Conclusion: a good propeller is always good.

Dear friends, I am quoting real delivery dates that exist TODAY. Of course, I can send it by UPS Express, maybe it will deliver in a week, but I am primarily focused on reasonable shipping prices. DHL-express will deliver even faster, but significantly more expensive. So it is highly advisable that you plan your moves and replacements smoothly and well in advance.
I have already sent the 2-blade left rotation propeller to France. But I still have the 3-bladed left 66.9" straight blades in the 2 day ready stage. The others are right rotation only. Everyone else will have to wait for orders to be fulfilled. The photo is a right-hand rotation.
