Four pages of the thread.  He did get educated on the 582 and was pleased.  The plane was wrecked coming off a trailer...

TJay this thread is a year old and from another forum but thanks for the reply. This was another classic case of someone having NO clue about two strokes or how they work trying to operate one. I wonder what the outcome ever was? Probably never learned to fly and tells as many people as possible how bad two strokes are.

Light grey.  One of their "stock chip" colors.

Are the little plastic screens in the carbs installed. that is if you have Bing carbs What they do is stop fuel from bubbling which sounds exactly like what you have. Also set the plane at a high angle of attack and do a fuel flow test. Its a two stroke, if it has air and fuel it will run. Just have to figure out what the problem is.

I am also curious on this in case it comes up with the sale of this project I have. I listed that fuse on barnstormers tonight. I'll have to be honest with any buyer that I recommend it be blasted and recoated before being put back into service. Be nice to know roughly what that costs if anyone asks. I am too lazy to go back in this thread. What color did you go with Larry?

I heard from the guy at powder coating today. My plane will be ready to pick up Monday. As promised, I will share the cost when I have an invoice in hand.

Actually it is ready for pickup tomorrow, but I'll be out of town for the day on business.

7k is the highest I can remember having mine. But that's because I have a thing about not swimming in ice water.

For the record, I've had mine to 11.5 and she still had climb left, 300 fpm with a full load.

I figure the Mangy with a 105 hp Zipper should be able to climb right into orbit.

It cracks me up that we have so much info on this site about planes, yet you pick up on dumbo's topic.... 10k? I never fly that high, you can't see shit from up there, once you come back down to earth maybe you can see straight.

... And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what you call a fly-by trolling. First post spewing lib-tard talking points.

Leni, I guess you know your website has made it when that happens! Congratulations!

    Doug,

Thanks for the link! Ya, that is crazy! I had this happen in my Starduster Too, but luckily not in a crosswind landing!
My rudder pedals are a little different in size, but I think I will weld a gusset, maybe rectangular, from the rudder post all the way down to the control tube. Mine have a small gusset at the base, I wonder why they didn't put one at the top? The force is the same...

I found a picture, but it is a little blurry. You can see that the PO put turn buckles on the rudder attach point. Those are coming off and I will look at using the original straps and a Clevis pin to attach so that I will get a little more clearance from the fiberglass sides.
    Thanks,
    Ron

Wouldnt it be something if anyone who criticized the move knew anything except what Rush Limbaugh told them to think? I am amazed that adults who have bumper stickers trying to keep Government out of their lives now mess their pants because Government is trying to get out of part of their lives. Make up your freeking minds - if you have freeking minds.
Now ask yourself- who "controls" the internet? Do you know? Who will in the future? While your conservative republicans try to make net neutrality go away, so you can watch big business take over, you bitch about a private commission giving out URLs. Yep, backs up what I've known about conservatives - too much time above 10,000 feet without oxygen.

I could use the MK4 Spinner and might be interested in the motor mount and firewall. Also, there is actually a cost effective way to ship the doors.

    Thanks,
