    since the forum has been slow thought I would post a few photos, been to hot to do much this summer and I'm to cheap to flip on the AC in my garage. Got my throttle mounted, started on the fuel system, got my trim hooked up, and this week I started on my wing struts,

    I wondered about that also, but then I think of the Maule M-6 they only have a 7' long wing strut on a 32 foot wing with a 2500lbs gross weight, I'm diffidently not saying your wrong but just something to think about, Maybe it has to do with the tube spars, and the weights we fly at,

    I'm not sure why kitfox did that, My best guess would be to make it easier for builders, it is kind a pain to cut the wood rib to fit around the strut attachment, by moving it out it places  the strut attachment point is between two ribs, or maybe because it looks better,

    I think it would work great if you build it right, I do think you would loose your wing folding option unless you raise the rear spar carry through, leaving it as it is I don't see any way the flaperons would clear the fuselage tubing, something to think about , also leaving it as it is you would not have the correct incidence for that wing but I don't think you would notice it while flying,  If your looking for a project go for it,

    That weight shocks me, If you add it up with the 1 inch tube that kitfox uses on there wing struts they would actually have close to the same  weight  if they would just build with 4130 stream line tubing,

    If you guys want to build new ones the way ED is describing I bought 12 rod ends because they were cheaper that way and I only need 4, they have a 3/8x24 rolled thread with special reducers to get the bore down to a 1/4 bolt. Very strong that way, They are a RBC Heim MT6 bearing

    Anyone know what this is worth?  I have had it now for a bit and thinking about selling it, I took it out today to play with it and it works great but did notice the battery wasn't holding a charge real well anymore, Let me know what you guys think.
