Congrats on your purchase. They are fun to build the forum here is fabulous.

Yep, have grabbed the rotors, tight with no slop anywhere. Bearings also tight and smooth.
It also happens when I fly from the right seat, where there are no brake pedals (i.e. no heavy foot drag going on). Gonna live with it for now I guess. Just no down time at the moment to pull the rims and calipers.

Great looking console

Checked them both out. Both side bearings are tight and smooth with zero play. Have not yet pulled the calipers, but they do release well. Both also spin down at the same rate after take off.

I have the new Belite unit. Simple and works great.

I am starting to experience a higher pitch noise out of my right brake assembly while taxiing (kind of like an intermittent squawking noise). Cant really feel any vibration. Goes away as soon as I touch the brake pedal, however... usually returns in about 100 feet. Braking effect is excellent (actually a bit better than the left). Disc surface is smooth, shiny and true (at least visually on the inboard surface when I spin the tire). Caliper motion on the pins is free and does not appear to be dragging at all. Behaves just like the left.
Anyone experience this at all?

Dont forget to look through the service bulletins when you get a chance. You can find them on the Kitfox site. Here is a good thread on one of them that might apply to you in case you hadnt already seen it.

Spoke with Steve at CAC today. Nice guy and very informative. He is going to look into reviving the mold or making a new one. If any of you have an interest in a set please give him a shout. He also mentioned they plan to put their light weight fiberglass floats back in production (used on light birds like the Avid/Fox).

Love the break pedals

Will you separate? If so, can you shoot me a pic of the ski's?
-
But would it have the bearing additions/upgrades to allow it to be suitable for prop use?
-
Just sent a message to Phil at CAC. I will see what he comes back with.

Gonna try to find a pic of a set. Buckchop recently posted a pic in his "Kitfox 1" postings.

Great video on that link Doug, thanks. This Kitfox definitely stalls. Nose drops hard over at about 30 MPH clean (though I do have a increased cord elevator). Another thread I found on the Kitfox site in case others are interested.

Have any of you been in a spin with these birds (either intentional or not)?
If so, how did it behave and recover?

Looking good!
I would seriously look at replacing the springs on that gear. You don't have much travel on them before they compress and your going metal to metal. Really bad things have happened to most people using this gear when they bounce or hit a bump.
Anxious to see how she does with the jab on it!
I second that statement!!
Is this the Airdale Gear or High Wing gear? Thinking Airdale from the step post, but I could be wrong. I have been very happy with the travel on mine (Highwing). Have had some pretty good landings with lots of travel. Have never bottomed out, though am concerned by the post.

Thanks Len, actually I plan to make a set of the Airdale style soon, however I do prefer the Kitfox fiberglass ski's should I run across a pair.

Anyone have a set of those ski's that they would be willing to part with?
-
Anyone recognize those ski's? Nice looking design. Are they heavy?

Lotsa fuel as well.

Neat gear. Kinda Cub-like.

I am using the AOA instrument and it works well with nice display.
