    I would never use full faperons in a strong crosswind. Been there done that. Full deflection of the control stick did nothing.

    He started with Kitfox !ite. They were tube and fabric. He changed the design to meet part 103. The Kitfox Lite did not meet part 103.

    Just watched a u-tube video with James Wiebe that was filmed 6 years ago. He said he had a carbon fiber Belite factory built for only $50,000. Crazy! He did buy the tooling for the Kitfox Lite, not the Kitfox 1.

    Yes that was the aluminium spar ect. Carbon fiber price was ridiculous.

    If I remember right that was the price tag on it at Airventure. Spars, ribs and other parts were made out of carbon fiber. It was a crazy price.

    When the Belite first came out as a factory built ultralite the price tag was $50,000 if I remember right.

    I think the Belite came from the kitfox lite. About the same as a Skyraider 1, except it had flaperons like the kitfox.

    Weather finally broke
    Finally the wind went down and the temps were in the 20's. Was a beautiful day for flying. Ice fisherman are out in force now.

    The Avid gear is real flimsy when on skis. When taxing over rough snow the skis are twisting and turning. Do not turn the airplane when pushing it in and out of the hanger unless you are moving it forward or backwards. Especially in deep snow.

    I connected it to a turnbuckle so I could rough trim it on the ground. When in flight I can fine tune it with the trim control.

    Not much movment at all. It does depend on how strong of a spring you have. Stiffer spring less movment.

    35 cent fix. Trim up with this. Trim down with the flaperons. My push pull cable never worked either. To much play in the cable through the fuselage.
