The tires are awesome!!! Nowhere is off limits now.....I'm sure to get in trouble.
Also installed a warp drive 3 blade 70" hp-l hub today. Set at 15deg, gives me 6000 static. So far so good. I may add a bit more pitch and see what happens.

Yes, kinda. Tires easy doesn't want it back, but the distributor where tires easy gets the tire wants it back. They called me Friday to start the process, but i asked to wait until I got the replacement to determine all is well. Ill call them back today.

Replacement received and installed this afternoon. This one did match the smaller square tire. And the batch # was the same as well.

Ok, so here is the latest. The larger tire is the defective unit. The little code on the sidewall is a secret and may have nothing to do with the shape and size. The manufacturer did say the pronounced black sidewall strip is normal and the tire should be more square than round.
They are sending me another tire and the manufacturer will be wanting my defective unit....

Tires easy is not sure that code means anything. If you have the tires mounted, and they are identical, well....
I would be very intersested to see if you guys mount your tires and find them to be different
Ill keep you advised.

Nanco tire usersCheck out my different nanco tires. Blast.
Tires-easy is working on it. They have communicated very well so far.
Other than the date stamp, the only difference is this small code: p325-01 and p325-03. The -03 is the larger tire.
The larger tire stands 22" high and the smaller is 21". The smaller is more " boxed". Notice the more pronounced raised sidewall on the smaller tire.
Tires-easy is sending me another tire. It it sure to match one of these. But which one is better? Is one a flawed second?

Big knob friction throttleI want to ditch the vernier throttle and go to a friction type. I like the retro look of the big knob.
Are the ones for $75 at acs(acs-800) the only/best option?

TailwheelI just purchased a set of nanco tires to replace the very small very hard shoes I currently have.
I'm not looking to go crazy off-roading, just hit every local grass strip I can find. Which includes the sandbars on the river and such.
Anyway, the mains are a start. I have the maule 6" solid on the rear. Again, without going crazy Alaska, what are your recommendations?
Thanks

KFIV-1200 vs MKIV HHI have the kfiv. Hopefully she will be flying again in a month or so. Its been a fun rebuild, but now its time to fly...
So my buddy really likes my kf and would like one as well. He has been looking for a kfIV, but now he has spotted a few mkiv heavy haulers for sale and they seem to demand much less $ than the kitfox.
What is the comparison?
Our flying consists of burning local holes only. No real need for speed, but he does want it to fell like an airplane and not an ultralight. And the 1050-1200 gw helps with our passenger loads etc....
Thanks

Enigine to Ground strapsI installed my 618 on the kfiv today. Is there a "best" lug to install the engine-to-ground strap? I noticed the starter was ground strapped to the housing and the housing is bolted to the case, so for the heavy starter current to flow, would any case bolt work? I suppose i would(should) have attached it to one of the 2 lugs holding the starter to the housing, but now i cannot get to them without pulling the engine again.
Thanks
