Ed or anyone else ever flying threw this area,100 Mile House has and air strip basically right in town, alot of guys make it a stop flying threw to Alaska cause your within easy walking distance to motels , resturants  ,beer etc. Maybe one day Ed  I'll buy you some JD,my friend flew a 701 zenair all the way back from Florida abut 2 years ago,so who knows were we may venture to, unfortunately im self employed  an in a deep hole after a divorce a year ago ,more time  less money,I herd its called AIDS aviation induced divorce syndrome

Right now the battery cable are long enough to reach the tail section just really don't want to cut an access port in it ,this weekend going to sit the battery as far back threw the turtle deck open as far back as I can mount it and re weigh it and if that still not enough some lead in the tail will be needed. It does have the soob coversion, 72" 3 blade warp drive prop, just hope its not -28 c   again

Thanks for the numbers Leni and Chris, the numbers we came up with are a little off your guys, mine are 8.90 to 12.51,and it looks like we need 12 lbs of weight on the tail according to my buddy who built a few planes already. I like Ed' s idea of the JD for weight lol

    Fat Avid weight and balance
Hi guys, well things are getting closer with my fat avid and i.m just wondering if the datum line and formulas  on it, is like the avid c . I have the manual walking you threw it and have a friend thats did them before but want to make sure the extra 18" in length dont affect  using the avid c method of doing the W & B. Randy if you happen to have any of your numbers handy and get a chance to post them ,that would be appreciated, Thanks Willis

Very nice, keeps looking meaner every time you post a picture of that beast,Randy, do you have a close up picture of the small triangle side windows in the cargo area, not sure what the best way is to mount them in there,

Hi Randy, I'm just at this stage of building a flap mechanism kinda like yours, I just want to be sure on the degrees. Does the flap handle have the 26 degrees  of travel from the first notch to the last notch and the flaperon has  a total travel of -3  to 40 degrees. Was each notch at any paticular degree or did you just evenly space the notches threw the travel of the flap handle,  Hope this makes sense cause im probably not quite using the right terms ,also by any chance are you using and MSD ignition on your soob.

    Thanks

Thanks again for  the info, i still got time to track down some tires since  but that will be a great start, I have the original set of 6" avid rims but they had the drum brakes  so i bought the 8"   rims off barnstormers. Glad to here the floats should work ok , | like ski flying so much  that i figure floats wll be kinda the same and we have hundreds of lakes up here with  some big fish that need to be caught. My flying buddy is putting some on a 701 zenair soon as he builds them so, ill see how his does

Thats good to hear, I am planning on a set of 26" tires for it ,I have the 8" rims, were is the best place to order them from. I just got my prop back from warp drive and they did repair it, seemed like good guys to deal with. Randy ,would you put floats on your avid, i have never flown with floats but just wondering if the avid with the soob in it would be an ok combination in case a deal on floats pops up,  thanks again
