Thanks, I filled everything in propperly but they are not updating my sent in original to my efiled file.  no one is answering my emails and of course you can't get ahold of them by phone.  My process seems to be stuck in a never endeing "pending" situation.

When I contacted the FSDO in Seattle, they were not at all interested or freindly about "built from parts"  He simply said "that wont work" and was not at all helpfull.  I've heard in Idaho they are more supportive for this.  Does anyone have any input or advice on this?

    Aircraft registration problems
    Hello
I have e-filled with the FAA for to register as "built from parts". I paid my $5 online, filled out the online application and scanned in the noterized FAA form 8050-88 ( Affidavit of ownership).  On my review date, they emailed me and informed that they need the original form physically sent in, and the scanned copy wasn't acceptable.  I respoded to the email that I would send in the original.  I sent in the original to the correct department and included a copy of the application that I e-filed online as to help with any confusion.  A couple of months have gone by and there has been no update on the CARES website that my orriginal has been recieved or added to my file and is till just "Pending". I have left severall emails and cannot get any email response back.  When you call to speak to someone, their automated anwering service tells you that you must email.  I'm frustrated that they are not replying to let me know they've recieved or that it's in process, or they haven't received for that matter.  I feel like I blew my chance and should have sent in the $5, application, and for 8050-88 all in one envelope just in case somene in the office recieved my 8050-88 and put it in discard pile due to not complete package.  Does anyone have any advice for me?  Or does physically sending something in usueally take months for them to add it to a file.  Could the answer be send in a brand new app, new notorized 8050-88 and another $5 check and just start over with to proccess?  Thank you all for any advice!!

I don't have experience in flying my model 2 and have only flown the model 7 once.  Could someone explain the major and miner differences in flight controls. How much better is the 4 and later mixer and is it just when flaps are extended that it makes the difference.  Wondering if it's worth the trouble re enginearing in the 2 since I'm upgrading things.  My main objective is slow flight and STOL for this project.  Thanks, Craig

Yes, sorry, you're right. The classic models.  Thanks Allen!
it's been a long time since I've done work on it, but I started to widen the fuselage. I think at a minumum, I wanted to do that, reinforce the frame for the landing gear, and enlarge the rudder and elevator.  I'm exited about re-diong the 2 with it's light weight and high lift wings but it sure is hard to find many support videos on these older models. This will be interesting and a struggle for me I'm sure but I'm going to go for it and hopefully build some momentum and hopefully get it legal and flying! I'm still scrathing my head about baggage area ideas and a little side access door.

Thats cool! and does it still weigh much less than the 4 but gain a lot of the good characteristics? Do you have any photos of your mixer conversion? Neat project.  I like that the early models are light so I may want to stay strategic about the improvements.

    I will
I will try this but the FAA said it may be difficult without the original data plate, and I think it was removed when de-registered.

Ya, I was hoping to get them onboard to make sure I had their blessing that I was doing enough to constitute a new airplane before all the work and $$ is spent on it.  It almost seems like I would have to do it and just photo document for proof and present in the end for inspection.  That would seem like a big gamble.

And Chris, I would not be opposed to using a non-deregistered plate and just get this thing repaired and flying, if anyone knows of any! Thanks for the input.
