  1. The horizontal stabalizer fixed, com transponder ELT and gps antenna brackets made and welded in waiting on some drain grommets rudder cables and new hardware.

what are some of the thing you guys wished you had done prior to fabric on the fuselage?

very impressed with the oratex did a small picture frame to test the glue all seams to be okay, it is water based and delivers during sub 20 degree weather and can’t freeze. Wish they put a temp tattle take in box for piece of mind.

  2. Great video, ordered everything materials Friday. No internal rust just at the crack. Plane has been outside for a year now. Probally better pull fabric on horizontal next.

  3. Can somebody measure the lower longerons deflection at the tubbing cluster in between 24 an 85 inches forward of the tail spring bolt. Dont see anything that looks wrong or a repair.

  4. Thanks man that picture is alot better than mine. Thats lind of what I was thinking and after a few rounds the tower instructors will have it figures out. Radios and follow normal trafic pattern procedure hopfully its not a problem. Saves alot of time and money being able to keep these things at home.

  5. I have a pasture behind the house id like to fly out of its 350 by 1300. Problem is center of the field is .9 miles from reference point of KLMT. Under class D airspace. Field is controlled 7am to 5pm, the tower is a training spot. Anybody have experience or ideas before talking to the tower guys? Red dot is the field.

  6. While the fabric is off the fusalage what esle should be done? Not interested in a you tube monster just a nice clean airplane to play with. How much wider is a 4 vs 2. The model 2 I owned was just too much of a project for me, sold it with a lot of work to be done still, I would almost consider it a one person plane. Hal has been through the engine in the past couple months it is missing the seat pan along with some misc that I'll find along the way.

  7. Dusty what told you it was a 1200, I'm still learning here. Getting it registered is my biggest fear it was purchased throught an estate sale. Regarding the rudder peddle reinforcment what is the best way to do it bot saying kitfox ad is bad but somebody might have figurwd out something better

  8.

This is a project. Currently the wings are uncovered. It has Al wing tanks in both sides. Fuselage is straight. No damage history. No corrosion, it's lived in northern CA and Or. 950 gross weight. Has homemade trailer. 582 firewall forward.

Still having issues with pictures, there is a bunch in kitfox 1 section titled bringing it home to oregon. Selling because I would rather fly than build one.

  9. So I have realized that I am not an airplane builder, just not enjoying it like I thought. So I have decided to sell this project. And find a complete aircraft. Should any of you guys be interested let me know. What specific pictures, information, and paper work would make a complete advertisement for a great add?

Picture is the start of building runway at the farm.

  10. Thank you, just picked up a gallon of acetone from town. Al foe flaperon hangers came in today so going to spend the evening in the metal shop. Is there a better epoxy to use for re ataching false rib than whats in the build book

  11. Progess has been non existent the past couple weeks. Have had zero luck finding replacment 6 gal tanks, calles Kitfox a couple times now and havent heard back yet on price and wait time, spent a little time removing right wing and pulling fabric off the other. Found 3 broken false ribs, one because of me. What chemical will remove glued fabric without harming rib glue or rib varnish? Second picture is the one I broke, it has already been spliced at one point along with three others spread out along the wing. 4th picture is broken and warped have yet to find the broken piece. Removed 15 or so mud daubber nests.

  12. I understand what your after now, was at Reno today and seen a yellow fox with a cabane added and it finally clicked how they are doing it without modifying fuselage. Front gear mounts have an additional piece sandwiching outside of mount that the cabane is welded too. Plane was equiped with dual springs basically replacing the bungies.
