Best of luck in bringing it all together!

Its not unreasonable, but the non-profit part would be since someone would be getting paid to produce parts. The price of the parts would have to be in the form of a "donation".

I kind of got a chuckle when I saw this. Something isn't adding up. Doesn't say where it is or what country. FAA and LAA certification?  I'll send him a check right away.

Well, got the plans today for the Tiger Cub. "What did I get myself in to".  More pieces and parts that there are relatives at a hillbilly reunion! At least they seem complete with a materials list. Time to spend a couple weeks going over them.

I seen that one. No folding wings, not run in a few years, single ignition, but a good price. Tiger Cub plans in the mail. Also he has the N-3 pup plans that I might snatch up. True that I haven't had a plane for 3 months but won't buy something I don't want just to have one. And its possible that I'll still end up LSA instead of Pt 103. Still have the PP license current so is the cl 3 med. To me, part of the excitement is the hunt for the ideal plane, even if I have to build it. I have the ability to turn expensive metal into worthless scrap in a very short time. You're not really a experimental builder till your scrap pile is bigger than your project!  Anybody want to buy a trash can full of metal shavings?

I still think you're a hillbilly! Somewhere down deep inside.

Always impressed by your videos. A great work ethic.

Spending $125 for a set of plans to study isn't a big commitment. A little pencil work to get a approx cost to build will tell the tale. And yes, one can buy a flyable bird cheaper than building one(maybe). But what's the fun in that!

Nice Bird at a good price. I could have something like that and build a Tiger Cub. Wait a minute, starting to sound like you!

In those famous words, " around here, if you want something, you gotta build it".

Well, found a set of complete plans for the Tiger Cub. A guy near Nashville had a set and willing to part with them. He also had the additions for a nose gear or tail wheel conversion.

I think I'll stay with a standard steel tube fuselage. Wood fuselages has never won me over as far as strength versus weight. Especially in an off airport plane. The same with low or mid wing aircraft. At least while I am waiting, more money goes in the kitty.

Did contact Chris Duel of Badlands Ultralight and he will sell a materials kit for his aircraft. Which is a modified Kitfox Lite. I think he bought the jigs for the Kitfox lite from Belite. His lead time on a welded kit is about 12 months. So we'll see what the time is on this kit. I've built about 3 sets of Kitfox wings so a materials kit shouldn't be too tough.

Appears to have been sitting quite a while. Can't remember when the first 912's came out. Either way, your talking total rebuild on both. This one would require a very close inspection before even considering. I've seen several 5K deals turn into 30K planes without trying. When you could get a good flyable one for 20-25K. Projects suck up money like a goose sucking up corn.

Curious as to why a lot have no paperwork? Paperwork is what one is actually buying. Some must be scared of liability issues, which isn't an issue at all. FAA is getting picky around here lately.

The Merlin is an impressive little aircraft and a decent performer. But it is a pricy little thing to be made in China.

Thanks! As was said, it doesn't take very long on this group to know who you can trust and most you can trust without reservation. Actually this group pretty much monitors itself and its the members who curb somebody without the moderators having to do it. Though it rarely if ever has to be done.

That one would be a project! Engine would have to be replaced. Still a long way off.

If I can find a set of plans for one, that would be good enough. I can make anything, given enough time. Getting ready to order a new TIG welder. 4130 is my prefered method of construction for the fuselage. But may advertise for a unfinished kit or a set of plans.

Well, that was a bust. Phone # was no longer valid, and evidently they are no longer in business. Seems to be common with a lot of small kit producers now days.

    Tiger Cub
After looking at ones far away, finally come to the point of just build one from plans. That way I can make it what I want. And they are pretty close to me in distance. Folding wings to boot. The Tiger Cub out of Pa. Of course it looks like every other Cub copy out there, just smaller. Will order the plans tomorrow.

Just checked the mileage from here to the Kitfox Lite. A tad over 1700 miles round trip. A bit beyond this old fart's range now days. Oh well, I'll bide my time, something will pop up closer. By then I'll have more saved.
