Looking to sell my Avid flyer Mk4 Speed wing kit. The project has been registered with the LAA and the FAA has issued a registration mark. The Avid speed wing is a group A aircraft and is the latest model in the Avid Family. I have also applied and been granted permission from the LAA to extend the wings half a bay each side to increase the MTOW from 980lbs to 1045lbs providing additional payload capability. The fuselage, controls and tail feathers have all been recently stripped and re-sprayed in 2 pack epoxy paint and there is no corrosion. The kit is basically un-started except for the following work.

• Cowl has been split, fire wall installed.

• Tail wheel set up currently assembled and fitted

• Controls have been assembled and fitted

• Foot well and baggage area have been temporarily installed

The kit comes the standard set up, plus the option of nose wheel and tail wheel, note that the tail gear legs are the additional, later higher and wider legs which give better ground handling. It also comes with two different seat colours, dark or light brown and a cover for behind the seats. Also included are some instruments and the covering material, tapes etc to finish the aircraft. The kit comes with the rotax 582 firewall forward kit which includes the engine mount, radiators and specialised fitting to install a rotax engine. There is also a engine mount for a jabiru 2200 if you whish to install that. Along with the aircraft I am also including a trailer designed to transport this aircraft and a bmw aero engine. The BMW has been used on a couple of Avid’s but does need some work and an engine mount for installation.

Collection of the aircraft would require a large estate car or van with a towbar. Once the aircraft is finished the airframe can be transported to and from the airfield on a trailer as the wings fold backwards. This will save you expensive hangar fees later down the line.

Price is $5500

I kind of got a chuckle when I saw this. Something isn't adding up. Doesn't say where it is or what country. FAA and LAA certification?  I'll send him a check right away.
