so far looks to b a 1992 617cc type 643 rotax

Allonsye,
his gear is built ok, and strong, very light weight, and good guy to deal with, and $1350 with shipping, ready to bolt on, so i got one set from him, paid in full, he built it to my specs, then sent it ground shipping to me in Ak that takes 17+days, i paid $150 for priority 3-5 day shipping i thought,?? anyways all the center V bolts holes where all crooked/off by half a bolt hole, and the left gearleg was 5/8" shorter than the right, the springs r suppose to b 6" long so there is preload and the ones in the setup where 5" long so just the plane sitting empty the springs where colapsed 3/4", so had to send it back to him so he could build me a whole new set again. He said he has no idea how that happened, Now im waiting again for the new second set, hate to say that about that, but it is true, started all this on august 11th and i have pic. Sorry for that bad news.

Sioux201 i do know about the case, and as i stated i know i have the right block, it has the "lugs" to b able to bolt the propdrive on.
The crankshaft tapper is work but that dont worrie me either. Lots of machinist friends here, And i plann to use an Ebox on this engine. If i use it.
Exhaust is doable also, As im not going to run this motor under a full KF cowl, so ill have LOTS of room.
Jim u r correct, some of them did have the rave valves in them yrs. a friend of my sons has a 500 with rave valves also, its about same yr sled.
So mayb ill just load that heavy turd backup and take it down to my skidoo GURU buddy here that helps me with my motorwork to figure out what it is.

Well TCJ the id tag is missing otherwise i wouldnt have needed to ask.
Dusty, it looks just like a 582 bottom end thats in all my planes, so i know i have the right yrs for the case, trying to figure out if its a 670, 617, dont belive it is a 582 since it has rave valves. Guy said it was a 1993, but the tag on the tub says its a 1992. Its a running riding sled i picked up for $150 bucks, and dont want to dissasembile motor to find out till i tear it out to install in a plane. Can use it for icefishing with my son till then.

Well i think they will work out good.
And i just picked up a running riding 1993 skidoo mach1 with a 670 for $150, mayb a nice swap in a plane one day, hope a 582 dual plug head will fit it, and the coils ect. Hahaaaaa

I second that Leni, and im a new pilot, dont fly solo yet but in training with a real seasoned bush pilot that has a hunting guide service for sheep/ moose/caribo up in the mountains. Loaded best u can in a plane with lots of power180hp, no electronics, hand prop, good acme shocks, superduty gear, 35" bushwheels, what an awesome bird, now ive grownup in the cargo area of a supercub most my life with my father when i was a kid, im 48now almost 49. and done some cool flying, stories so cool u cant make then up, dad been flying in alaska since 1957. but nothing i mean nothing like im learning from the instuctor, no BS straight out safe mountain and river landings. Most awesome time of my life, but im way far away from being one myself.
But Dreams Do Come True one day.

Well so far have done a quick fit, next ill put in the bushings and the bolts make sure it all fits b4 i send it off to the powdercoater. Tires on stock gear cleared the ground by and 1” where its jacked up to now. And to get same tires backon ill have to jack plane up 5” more.

A few more pic of this summers cut, down to bottom of pay and moving backwards across cut to the other side, ive hauled out a total of 148, 50yard loads so far. We had a serious rainstorm here for a week and now me and my son r pumpin water like mad men. Hahahhaaaaa
by the way my son down in the hole is 6’1” at 17yrs old helps with reference of hole depth. Hahahaaaaaa

4” extended up at firewall, backin plates moved out to 67” wide, a great guy to deal with.
I dont use the 3/4 stock axles is y there is a piece of pipe in the axel hole for his jig mountup, all my birds run 1 1/2” axels. Easier to play musical skis. Hahahahaaaa

Yea i have cn those, they helpful like the rest ive cn but still not the best but will have to work, between the one video i mentioned (alex/ redfox) and the instructions. Im going to have to just go with it. But i like the idea of them going over the top of fuse between wings to help that air there also.

Ok guys, i got my vortex gen in the mail, ordered them off ebay, so not very good instrutions so im doing some reasurch to c where to place them and the spacing.
Anyone have an opinion, best ive come across is the utube video the Alex (redfox) and his sugjestion on placement, but that is on a KF5? Im installin on a KF1

Randy Moore could posible help u out there, he is one of the guys building gear for the Avid and Kitfox, ( he is just finishing mine for taildragger). He also builds tri gear for guys, and ill bet he has info u need on the trigear stuff. Give him a call, leave a message he will get back to u soon as can, he is a busy guy these days. Hey just thinking here hope someone will set it straight,
But i think that Kitfox and Avid have different axel center locations from the front of the wing. Think Avid is straight down from wing leadin edge, and Kitfox is like 1 7/8” forward of wing leading edge?
That will messup ur CG if it ends up different than what u have now. Mayb someone thats knows them better can help us out with that info.
