    Mark,

I am at work till the 11th of June or I would come meet you in Atown or Seward.  I have fished Cresent quite a bit and have always done very well on the grayling, but with the late freeze we have had, I seriously doubt if the lake will be thawed out enough for good fishing, and the hike in (about 6 or 7 miles if I remember right) is probably going to be nasty and muddy and slushy.  The creek may be open right at the end of the lake, but getting there will probably not be much fun.

The upper Kenai should have some Dollies in it.  I would try right around Quartz Creek where it dumps into the river or just up stream of the mouth.  I think the river itself is closed to rainbows till mid, or the end of June.  Like Randy said, check the regs VERY close!  A quick skim over them wont do, make sure you find the EXACT drainage your wanting to fish just like Randy said.

Randy, there is great grayling fishing in Lake creek too!  we are going to have to organize a fly / float trip one of these days as that is one of my favorite float/fishing trips!

Don't know if anyone on here remembers those old dirt bike movies "On Any Sunday"?  I had a great one last weekend; they were having the Talkeetna Fly-in this weekend so after sitting out Saturday while it snowed all day I took off after church on Sunday and headed north into the severe clear but rather bumpy flying.  By the time I got there they had closed up all the flying stuff but the tourist season was in full swing; I was landing with 4 other planes (Turbin Otters, etc.) and a helicopter in the pattern (that is busy for me).  After playing like a tourist wandering around town with the busloads of real tourists, I took the best ride out of town and headed up the Knik for a little playing.  Even sat around a campfire with another local (cub driver) who gave me some tips on fishing holes I had not yet explored.  It doesn't get much better than that!

    Hi Mark,

I would thouroughly enjoy getting to meet up with you guys!  I live about an hour drive north of Anchorage in Palmer (the oposite direction from Seward) but would be glad to drive in to Anchorage and meet you for breakfast/ lunch/ dinner; whatever works with your schedule.  Maybe JackAk can meet us too since he lives in Ancorage.

To tell you the truth, I have not even picked up a new set of fishing regs for this year so I don't know what the opening dates are going toward Seward.  Be sure to look online or pick up a set of regs when you get your fishing licenses because they are very location specific, often down to the lake or creek on what is open, what you can use for lures, hooks or bait; and what you can keep.  I have not fished for grayling in this area so can't say where they are around there; I have always fished for grayling from about Fairbanks north.  If you have heard that they are in Crecent lake, they they probably are.  Dolly's and rainbows should be pretty good in the streams and lakes that are open of ice, and by then that should be about all of them.  Most of the lakes are just partially open now in the Anchorage and Mat-Su area since it has been a late, cold spring so far.  I flew to Talkeetna last Sunday and the Big Susitna River was still mostly ice covered.  Not able to launch boats yet and most years it is open by now!

Let me know what your schedule is and what I can do to help with gear or whatever you need.  If you have time to come out to Palmer we could do some quick local fishing or a fly out to the Knik Glacier (one at a time).

    BANDIT,

If you have any free time in Anchorage, check out the history museum - very interesting place.

The Sea-Life Center is in Seward, and a restaurant right by the dock has great Beer-battered Halibot.

Hope you enjoy your trip - and maybe connect with someone on here.

    Leni and Randy,

My daughter and I are coming to Alaska for a few days, June 1st to the 5th. It will be a short trip but fun. My brother is getting married at Seward on the full day cruise boat monday or tuesday. We have to leave wednesday. We will arrive in Anchorage saturday morning, then sunday head down to Seward. Randy do you live in Anchorage? If so maybe we can stop to say high. I would like to take Megan Grayling fishing off the road system to Seward. Any place other than Cresent Lake? It sounded like the season up there doesn't open until july. Dolly Varden and trout would be fun to. Leni, we aren't going to have time to get around your place. Sure would love to meet you guys.

The only measurement in there was the width apart center to center on the floats.   The biggest one I really need is how far behind the forward mount where it bolts to the fuse the step of the float is.

Any ideas how big of a project this would be? I might have a line on a raw cowling. I'd love to get rid of my side radiator and just keep my belly radiator I already have. I don't want to even bother though if its gonna be a major project that takes lots of modding to make it work.

    Jeff,

Can you pull a few measurements for me and tell me how long they are, where the step is in relation to the forward gear mount where it bolts to the fuse and how wide the floats are center of one float to center of the other float.

I am re-rigging the EDO 1320s when I get home next hitch and those numbers would help me get a close idea of how much streamlined tubing I need to order.

When do you plan on mounting the floats?  I am eager to see how they preform compared to the other floats I have flown on the avids and kitfox.

The controler for the lights didnt like hooking them up to the Vision X.. I didn't figure that it would as the wires on the "landing light" are smaller than a paperclip.

I have 2 of the vision X lights and they do work great on snow for a landing light, but I have not tried them on grass as it just does not get dark here in the summer.

    Thanks Randy,

I am going to post a video of my second solo.   Should be headed to my check ride in two weeks.  Could not pick a better place to learn to fly.  Alaska truly is an act of Gods power and mercy.  Randy has been incredibly kind in flying off phase 1 for me and giving me instruction prior to flying with my CFI.

    List of Traitors

Over the weekend, we came four votes away from the United States Senate giving our Constitutional rights over to the United Nations.
In a 53-46 vote, the senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.

The Statement of Purpose from the bill read:
To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.
The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms. The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S., and had language that would have implemented an international gun registry on all private guns and ammo.
Astonishingly,46 of our United States Senators were willing to give away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power.

Here are the 46 senators that voted to give your rights to the U.N.

Hello All, above is the list of all the TRAITORS in the U. S. Senate.
Thank God there was none listed for OK, AR, NE, or TX.

People this needs to go viral.
These Senators voted to let the UN take our guns.

They need to lose the election.
    We have been betrayed.
