Leni, congratulations to the misses and yourself, children are the greatest gift . The wife and I just received our first grand baby, a boy seven weeks ago and he is the most precious gift since our kid were born. I have to say I love to fly my kitfox but there is something about the grand baby  that just doesn't compare. Again Congratulations.

Doug, the hospital is only 3 blocks from my house. Something tells me they may get a little bit pissy if I try to fire up the enstrom out front to try n fly them home

Av8r, first planned trip to the lodge and fishing is next week Got some cute lil infant earmuffs that have a 28 db rating on them

Ed, I was hoping for a same bday baby, but today worked out perfect! The fastest easiest delivery I know of. 1 min 30 seconds of pushing and she was here with no complications or tearing etc. the perfect early bday gift!

Welcome Wayne, Where are you located?
Be patient and surely you will get an answer from the Avid flyers - As you can read, "Big Daddy" Leni is sort of busy right now as we are "expecting"!
I'm just a dum ole Kitfox type, 4 cycle engines, and only know about the Avid Clones....

If your A&P is used to doing a compression check on the Continental and Lycosauris engines, you may have to convince him to use the automotive type compression gauge and starter, and not the blow-by type.

From an older article my Mike Stratman: "Good compression should read between 100-120 psi in both cylinders and
equal at a minimum of 300 rpm"   Find the original article here" http://www.cps-parts.com/cps/pdf/Part47.pdf

Rockport sandals, super comfy, can walk miles in them! I went flying with my work boots on once before I made my pedal pads, got all snagged up in the FW tubes and darn near killed myself. Since then I have tried bare feet, slippers, sandals, docksiders and sneakers. The sandals and docksiders work best for me, I must get prepared for when the floats go on!

    Compression numbers ?
    Guys,

I'm getting a condition inspection on a 582 greyhead with about 150 hrs.  guy wants a compression check.  I cant seem to find any numbers .  What's good ? 70-80 -120 ?  engine warm or cold ?  is it really necessary to do one at all ?

    thanks

My original fitting was not the same as the larger Spruce. The pic shows the Spruce on the left and the modified original on the right.

Unsoldered the Spruce and rerolled and resoldered on to the smaller original fitting.

Looks good but why did you have to modify them, I used the ones from spruce that Joey showed and they went right in, just took a dremel with a sanding drum and removed a little from the #1 rib so I can get a socket onto them easily in the wings folded position to remove them for maintenance.

Check out that Storch-type landing gear - looks good.
Bad thing is: 1.This modified Avid is just too costly for me!
    2. I didn't see any folding wings?
