    Hi John,

I would consider installing a header tank just as a safety measure so you always have fuel in a turn, possibly low fuel or slightly out of coordination.  I have even run one tank completely dry until I was getting air before switching tanks when I was low on fuel and wanted to squeeze the last drop out of one tank and then monitor it where I could see it on my other tank.  I don't worry about my engine shutting down as long as I have a header tank to take up the gap in fuel flow.  The header tank is a very good safety for more than one situation.

Looks nice but I have never had any problem with the original aluminum tube header tank in my Avid/Avid+ and would be in the way in my Avid+.  What is the reason to "upgrade" to this?  Does it just hold a little more gas?

Of course a lot depends on what gear ratio you are running. My friends Hirth has a 2.23 ratio or something like that. If you have a C box with a 3-1 ratio, it would be different. Jim Chuk

    Time for ski's
With my new wing jack and gear jack I can put my ski's on in a little over an hour. Now let it snow!

A friend of mine was running a 64" three blade IVO on his Avid A model with a 55 HP Hirth. He ended up putting a 66" or 68" two blade Powerfin on and climb went way up. Something like 200 FPM or more. 20% or so. I don't think the powerfin is really any better than the IVO blade for blade, but I do think the two blades were more efficient and that is what gave the better climb. If you have to have more blades to take the power from the engine, fine, but fewer blades are more efficient, all though not as smooth in operation. Jim Chuk

I think it is time for you to get home Joey if a boring flight video and jazz background music has you looking for naked people to pop up.

I am using a Ivo ground adjustable with my 912 and highly recommend one for your 503.  Very easy to adjust for Climb, Cruise, and Normal for your engine.  Ivo can get you into the right one.  Other than that, every prop maker's prop is different and the maker will be your best bet for info.

Warp Drive prop for 503 DC
Does anyone know what size and pitch of Warp Drive prop is recommended for a Rotax 503 dual carb? I need the specs for a three blade.

    Thanks

I replaced the pilots side of my seat with memory foam from http://www.seatfoam.com/ I was going to reupholster it to until I got a few quotes! Upholstery has gotten crazy! The foam was pretty dense and heavy that's why I only did the left side of it. It made it much more comfy on those longer legs. I logged 10.5 hrs in a single day last year with two 3+ hour legs and I don't think it much matters what you have if your doing that...

Absolutely perfect day to fly in south Louisiana today. Got my t-crate and legend cub flying pals out of the hangar and we spent the day burning gas.

Ok, here are my new stats.

I have not yet changed the main jets. Probably should have done that prior to this testing.

I adjusted the prop for the first run. Just tossed a few degrees at the blades. Static run was at 5750. Ok, a bit low, but lets see what she will do. On the takeoff run, I noticed the rpm actually decreasing! Ok, back to the barn. Too much pitch
Set the pitch again and got a 6100 static. BTW, my static is consistently 600rpm lower than WOT. So I knew I was going to get 6700 WOT. Test flew. No love yet. Temps still running up to 1200.
Adjusted the pitch yet again, and I think I hit the sweet spot. 6000 static and 6600 wot. Much better. Mid-range temps stayed in check below 1150. CHT is at 125. Interestingly enough, my CHT has indicated 125 throughout all this testing.

So here I am. I think at at the end of my props efficiency. Either I change the prop for a longer blade, or go with a harder set of gears.

    Hey Guys,

yes they are insulation foam; and they are held in place with tabs of epoxy, how ever, I notice that this ones are too tight rubbing and compressing, I would like to be little bit loose like 1/2 milimiter or less and I will covered all around with tape.

    Dimi3:
One of the things I've noticed about this type of foam is  it takes a "set", that is it tends to compress  when under load over an extended period of time, get loose and permanently take on the shape of the gap it is filling. If it is the same insulation foam where you are as in my area. I'm playing with marine foam in the gaps as the seal, does a decent job. Working out some minor bugs.

    Sling Seat -- reconditioning
    I`m happy with my sling seat, however is old an looks crappy, even thought the plane haven´t flow that much in total since they build it;

I removed the 2" cushion foam from inside, and I will be putting reinforcements on the critical areas, not cushion but soft fabric instead, few layers; allowing me "hopefully..." to lower the seat without compromising comfort. the seat have some awful welding marks on it, so I bought new textile, and also a sew on custom patch (the one on the picture is a paper copy),

I´m planning to cover the flaperon push rods area making some sort of hanging bags right behind the seat shoulders; much like some of kitfoxes have.

I  have 2 aluminium protections over the push control rods, in case the sling seat fails, I will be not seating on top of the controls.

if you guys see anything wrong let me know please.

    Regards
    Dimi3
