    Prop went through the roof
I have an enclosed trailer for my Avid Flyer Mark IV.  A neighbor, who has too many airplanes to have another one, bought a Kitfox Mark IV 1200 and ask me about trailering it back to his hanger.  "No Problem".

We drove to Vacaville where it was hangered and put it in the trailer.  It had a 3 bladed carbon fiber prop which cleared the trailer just fine.  Towed it to Potter Valley, over 100 miles, and upon opening the rear door found the propeller sticking up through the roof of the trailer.

Seems the Subaru engine runs through a gear box which free wheels in one direction while ratcheting against compression in the other direction.  There must have been enough up and down on the road for it to rotate and drive it's way through the roof of the trailer.

Who would have thought to tie the propeller down?

Donno - would need to test it to see if it still works.
BTW: In Kitfox 4 manual is some drawings - there is also an inspection / access cover that goes on the top between the wood ribs you are installing. 4 little angles riveted to the ribs.
Maybe I can post the drawings in Files and Forms under Electric Elevator Trim, 9 pages?

    TJay,
I have the electric servo mounted in a stripped Kitfox 1 elevator - It mounts inside, and the rod goes outside to the trim tab - there is a cover for the rod that you can use like the covers on the rudder cables where they exit the fuselage.
Two angle brackets are used to mount it inside.
When I can get out of the warm house and walk thru the devastating 3 inches of snow, I could post a photo for you. I plan to use cable on the new one.

good idea with the 90 degree adapter. i believe the elt has to be mounted in that position. there should be an arrow on the side saying forward. Keep posting Mr. nice to hear from everybody.

I noticed in your photos your ELT is positioned horizontialy. Is this your final mount attitude? If so, you may want to investigate getting a 90 degree antenna adapter or, ideally, mounting the device in a vertical position. The horizontal plane of the antenna is 90 degrees from the standard emission polarity. This greatly reduces the effectiveness of any signal being emitted. Normal orientation of aircraft antennas is vertical. Receivers located very far from your transmitter will have difficulty receiving the signal, if at all.

John Stoner made a trim system for his Mod III that used a little lever next to the flap handle and a thatching spring off a mower blade that was attached to the elevator push rod.  It was simple and took all the stick pressure off as well.  I think there are pics of it on here, if not I will see if I can dig some up.

Edited and put the pic in here.

I think you can study the pic and figure out what is going on there.  If not, I can try to explain it to ya.  the spring is just stiff enough to take the force off the stick to trim it, but very easy to still use full stick deflection.

So what do you guys do, run a control cable up front or do you put a servo motor in the back or what.

I have seen one or two where the glaresheild did not extend to the WS - didn't see how it was all connected. Since my WS sits farther forward at the bottom than most, I plan to extend or split my glaresheild and splice it. This could be done with aluminum, fiberglass, or thin plywood, then paint or cover with leather, etc.
Some WS are bolted at the bottom, and some just lay against the glaresheild and sandwiched between it and the cowl - some put rubber or foam tape at the bottom for a better seal - Donno what Avid does, except for the Magnum since I have that manual.

    Another 670 build
I’m going to build a 670. Where are you finding your engines? At some point I read the 93/94 case was the one we needed for provision8. Rotax Rick insist on the 98ish HO crank, What have you used?

I put a cowl for a MK IV on my c and it went right into place on the camlocks but I did add one more strip of 1/2" weather strip to the windshiled to seal it off at the top cowl.  Mine is serial # 571 I think.

Is your panel and glare shield one piece?  you should be able to move the glare shield seperate from the panel to get it to line up with the colwing and windshield.

Very nice! Yes definitely stretch the elevator and I would seriously consider adding a trim tab as well. I recently just did this mod on my B model Avid and after 350 hrs and many changes the trim was by far the best thing I ever did to it.
