Lemon Pledge for the windows.  I've used it for years.  No scratches and sheds bugs easier.

    Alternatives to Plexus
My can just ran out and plexus has gotten stupid expensive. I have a very basic plexi windshield. What sort of products are you using that are readily available? My plane needs some loving. Going to have wash and wax her soon. Cow shit is bad stuff on white fabric! I also slayed about 4 billion bugs today. My plane was coated when we got done flying today. I've never waxed my ceconite with Randolph before but that seems what everyone is doing. I've always just used soap and water but makes sense to help protect against UV. I am just going to get some of the detailer spray on and wipe it down.

DROOP TIP VS SPEEDSTER HOERNER TIPS
I have been discussing with SuberAvid about the differences in wingtips - I know that the Avids have permanent tips - There are a lot of conflicting opinions on the lift and drag of the drooped Kitfox tips compared to the later Hoerner-type tips that Kitfox uses. The Hoerner is supposed to have less drag, and the drooped is rumored to have more lift.
As a rational way of comparison, someone who has removeable tips could use each type and make valid notes about how each type affected takeoff, cruise, stall, etc., on the same plane.
I cant do this with my extended wing chords since I use Cessna wingtips, and I don't have the Cessna droop tips.
Has anyone ever flown a plane with both wingtips? Maybe Cessnas with a droop tip change?
Does anyone have any info on this?

I guess that none of this probably matters, unless you are in the Reno Air Races!

I was showing the KF5 gear was actually cheaper by about $500 than the KF4, as shown in Grove catalog, and Kitfox will give you wheels, brakes, tires and tubes, and maybe, MCs for $3 Grand more. I know about the plain gear prices.
    EDMO
BTW - I sold my KF4 Grove/Matco set without tires, for $1000 - Sorry you missed it.

Ed, let's not compare apples to oranges. My estimate from Grove directly was for the KF 4 spring gear and hardware, nothing to do with 5, 6, 7 or SS spring gear and hardware.

A better comparison would be the current KF catalog price for Model 4 spring and hardware:

Not a direct cost comparison of course... my quote from Grove does not include axles or bolts, and I suspect the KF catalog price does not include packing and shipping if it comes from them or drop shipped from Grove.

I completely agree about concern with Acetone, try everything on scrap first! However, after reading the one fellow on PracticaMachinist's repeated experience, I am curious as it does appear to fall into the 'limited resistance' or 'not recommended for continuous use' vs. 'causes immediate crazing' manufacturer warning category. I have an old skylight I no longer need, maybe I will try some of these limited resistance solvents.

On the same note, I would be very careful using any alcohol as most also fall into the 'not recommended for continuous use' category. The exceptions being 50% Butyl, Ethyl or Methyl Alcohol and 40-100% Isopropol Alcohol. In addition to duration of contact, ambient temp also seems to factor in. It really doesn't help when different manufacturers list different warnings!

Here are chemical compatibility chart from other acrylic sheet manufacturers if anyone cares to compare:

$4395 now for supersport landing gear kit - see Doug's post and mine in rudder pedals.
The KF7 supersport uses the same Grove Spring gear as the KF5 & KF6.

Oh you are talking about the blown plexi windows that come with the Magnum! Whole different story. Those are very expensive and you have to try and save them. I think everclear 190 proof alcohol might be your best bet. I don't think it will hurt the plexi and in time will weaken the paper covering. i do not envy your position. Those windows would be VERY expensive to replace. I would not use acetone.

    Doug,

I haven't, but I will! I'm nervous about the acetone, but the other two I'm not as worried. I'm just to the point that I've spent as much on cleaning products as a sheet of polycarbonate would cost!

I'll let you know how they work for me...

    Thanks,

    TJay,
There was a mandatory SB on the vertical tube that holds the pedals - weld small triangles where the V-tube welds to the main bottom support cross tube. I may have posted it in files and forms?
If later on, you find that your brakes don't hold on static runnup, come back to here and read what the other guys have done, or go to the Matco site and study the ratios - or both.
    EDMO
I didn't find it in files and forms - guess I posted it somewhere else? I cant find it, maybe someone knows where it is?
Guess I could post it again if you cant figure out what I tried to say.
