Anybody got a good light weight Fire/sound covering they like for covering the firewall

TJay,  If you use galvanized or stainless - not Aluminum - for your firewall, all you need is soundproof material on the inside of the cockpit, and it is a lot cheaper than the fireproof stuff.    EDMO

I wouldn't waste any money on sound proofing anything. Any airplane I've flown in you need ear protection anyway.

Cheap lightweight 1/2" thick foam rubber is about as good as any of the expensive stuff - You can cover it with fabric to keep from scuffing it, and to keep it clean.

My IV has what appears to be flocked? Corflute not fireproof(plenty of other hinges to burn)but looks good and must surly stop some noise

Wick's Aircraft has a closed cell vinyl nitrile insulation foam that meets the fire retardant standards. Comes in different thicknesses in four foot widths - sold by the linear foot. All sizes except 1/8" are certified with a burn test available upon request. Between $5 and $18/foot based on the thickness.
