Setting elevator travel

When setting the elevator on my kitfox do I just go for the max up and down I can get?

Not sure about the Fox but my Avid specified the number of degrees for up and down.

Adjust the up travel so that the stick hits the seat just a hair before the rod end...maybe a clevis fork on a model 1...on the elevator push pull tube hits the tail post.  No down adjustment needed.

tjc,  you are correct - Model KF1 & 2 used a clevis fork on the tail end of the elevator rod - Kitfox 3 improved that by going to a rod end and eliminated the wear on the clevis bolt.  I think the manual does give up and down travel in degrees for some models, maybe something like 30 up and 20 down.   EdMO

I also updated mine to the model 3 style, it is very smooth with a bearing in there.

TJay, Glad to hear you updated clevis fork to rod end - Some owners of model 1 & 2 had severe wear on the clevis pin.
