Jabiru Weight

I have seen that a Rotax 912 weighs around 160lbs ready to fly and 582 weighs around 140 ready to fly, so what is the Jabiru weight ready to fly?

Jabiru website says 138 lbs.  That doesn't include the oil I believe, but it only holds 2.2 quarts.  I think that weight is accurate.   Jim Chuk

I think that's a little light by 10-15 lbs. for a Jab to make it ready to fly, depending on the install (baffling, exhaust, coolers, etc.)

Also a little heavy on the 582.  IMO.

Here is a link to the Jabiru page  http://jabiru.net.au/images/documents/2200_flyer.pdf   it includes everything but the prop and oil.  Tennessee wood prop for a Jab weighs 6 lbs.  Nothing we run on a 582 is that light.   When I replaced my 582 with a Jabiru in my MK IV, I didn't gain any weight.  Plane weighed 585 with the Jabiru.  John Miller said the same thing when he made his swap.  Jim Chuk
