Stuck Ignition/Starter Switch (Keyed)

My start switch (keyed) is stock in the ON position.  Before I try to cut off the key (in order to get this off) is there another way to break this free (pull out the barrel etc)?

It is a 3 position, 5 pin switch (OFF, ON and START).

You can just see it in the upper left portion of the image below.  Just a basic key switch, as supplied in the original KitfoxIII kit.

i would first try to shoot some wd-40 in her maybe that will break it free

x2 with pen oil to try. 

If that doesn't work cut/break off the key, remove the switch and stake it to you friendly neighborhood NAPA store for a $10 replacement.

You might try graphite powder.  Usually the preferred method for lubing keyed switches.

I've got the same switch with a key broken off - I'll take a closer look at it tomorrow.
