Well it looks like everyone else has about 3/8 to 7/16 of an inch Material on the outside, that's kind a of a bummer for me because I only have 5/16 of an inch of material  left, now I have to decide how big my balls are or do more welding, and I hate welding right next to finished fabric. thanks for the reply's guys.

think I have to remove the foam, from  pictures I saw it looks like the wind shield is bolted through the front lip of the glare shield. If the foam is in there I will never get the nuts on.

    Caculating Edge Distance
So I would like to either ream out my lift strut bolt from 5/16 to 3/8 or if I don't have enough edge distance I may just go to a NAS bolt. So in reading a bunch I found that the standard is 1.5D to 2D+.030 of the bolt measured from the center. Now I'm not quite sure what that all means so I am looking for some help. Or if someone has the wings off a kitfox 1050 just go measure your edge distance on the lower lift strut.

That is pink foam rasped to fit the wind screen. its only got one layer of cloth on it now, later I will chip the foam out and layup another stronger layer on the bottom side, Hey congrats on the kitfox sing off. Will you be listing that one for sale or rent a cheap storage unit down south for when you visit down there again.

Well one way to figure it out, If Aircraft Spruce is starting at $122 I would say they are only paying $61 that would be a nice starting point, Maybe that could be a bare wood un finished price.

Similar to what my challenger had then, you bend the tabs around the tube and attach with 4 rivets, If I was to do that type system  again I would hysol them also. Here is a photo of a challenger Flap assembly.

I found a pic of what I am trying to say if it doesn't make sense. It looks like the Highlander uses this system. I was just saying use aluminum ribs but wood would work too. looks like they cover in fabric but you could wrap a sheet of aluminum from front to rear also and forget the fiberglass leading edge.

I think if you were to pound out an Aluminum rib then drill a hole through it, About a 1/3 of the way back,Right where you want the aluminum tube to be, then lay a nice bead of Hysol around the tube onto the rib, I would think that would be plenty strong. Without any Rivets. Its really not that much different than gluing the Kitfox rib onto the rear spar. Look how much wing is hanging out behind the rear spar. I bet that glue joint takes a lot of pressure.

Doug H should know what to do, that plane that he is building right now I believe uses aluminum ribs in the wings on a tube spar see how there attached and just scale it down a bit.

My self I would make Aluminum ribs and cover them with aluminum and cherry rivets. I did that on my Sonex Tail, only took a few hours once I got my Block of wood made,

Well after adding everything up last night through summit Racing, Nylon braided hose and all the AN fittings I just couldn't do it, So I went the cheaper and lighter route, Ordered SAE R-7 with barbed fittings, that has worked for years, Some times I'm kinda cheap like that,

    AN Fittings
Are all the Aluminum AN Fittings the same Quality? the reason I am asking is because I bought some AN fittings off Ebay and they are Garbage if you ask Me, I slid the braided hose in the fitting and started tighten it down on the hose and all the threads on the fitting basically fell off while I was finger tightening them together, No wrenches, couldn't believe it, Here is the fittings I am talking about.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/260953713539?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

That would be fun if I had a kitfox to fly, Hell I would probably chicken out, wouldn't have a clue how to fly in there, Ha probably have to do a dry run with Larry first.

    Fuel Filter Choices
I would like to install a fuel filter just as fuel exits the header tank, before it gets to the electric fuel pump, does anyone know what micron I should be getting, Also does running AVGAS require a special filter? I will most likely not be installing a Gascolater in this plane since the header tank has a drain and it is the lowest point in the system.
