Joey what glue did you use to attach them, It doesn't look like Hysol looks more like a polyurethane construction adhesive, I guess on another note what is everyone using to glue these on?

Im in construction, when we build a house for someone we try to get all the drywall, taping, flooring and the  cabinetry work as well, So with that being said we have every standard cabinet making tool there is, to cut that airfoil only takes about 5 minutes on the shaper to do all 4

I made them from a couple 1X6 clear pine, by drilling the lighting holes I could balance there weight, they each weigh just over a pound,

Thought you guys could use more pics,  I finished riveting my flaperons, Made a drill jig and made a riveter both worked well, finished painting my flaperons, spinner, prop hub, turtle deck, started on my version of counter balance weights, weather I use them or not who knows, built an oil separator for the Jabiru, and this morning I decided to go with wood for the struts and I will cover them with fabric because that's the look I want, Enjoy

Yeah thats kinda what I thought, with the flat bottoms they can flex more than enough, I can see with a convex top and bottom, that would make them way more ridged,
got them finished up today and the primer is drying as we type.

So if I end up using my Avid weights which get mounted in the center do I need to slit the flaperon too?

I'm with ED on this one, I have never had high shipping costs like that, I place an order almost every week, the only thing that bugs me is half my order comes from the east and half from the west and it always says in stock both stores,  I guess some times its good to be right in the middle.

    Mass Balance Weights
Anybody know why the early foxes and Avids had a spade looking weight and the later foxes have the nicer looking weights, I bought some a long time ago from Airedale for the Avids but not sure I like the looks enough to install them, thinking bout making some nicer looking ones, like the kitfox weights anybody see a issue with this?

You would only poly-tac the spars and or the 2" overlap along with the ribs, But all Plywood surfaces bigger than 1 inch get Poly-Brush

Same way you attach plastic a little glue and rivet them together. If you want to build some nice cheap struts Wag-Aero has some streamline tubing for 3 bucks a foot I bought some a wile back, Nice stuff,

I would say almost no strength to the strut, But blends in with the rest of the plane nicely, Im piping in here because I am wondering what I should do also, I got my Brake out and bent a sample piece. May do this instead of wood, But not sure yet, I like the strength of wood and the look of fabric but aluminum only comes in at 3.648lbs to do all the struts minus the rivets and paint. Wood may be a couple pounds more,
