  1. Okay Guys.  I may be the tallest Avid owner/pilot at 6’ 5”.  Let’s just say things are tight, especially with feet/leg position.  I need your help on options to get more legroom!

I see limited gains from changing the seat alone and adding domes in the Lexan above my head, I think I really need to look at pushing my rudder pedals forward with clean modifications.

My project Model C is planned for the 582.   The basic exhaust may limit firewall modifications....

What have have you guys seen as options? Does anybody know anyone who has modified both firewall and airframe to push the pedals forward?

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

  2. Hey guys

I want to put similar side triangle windows on my Model C that is found on the Mark IVs .  I would appreciate a photo or two of what the installed window looks like close up. I understand my install may be different given mounting features.

    Thanks in advance !

Glad you found the debris before losing all your fuel flow.  Sharp plane!  Hey- what is the make/model of the circular VSI OAT Altitude instrument next to your Avionics switch?

  4. Gents,

Recently having purchased several Avid components to complete my project, I am posting items for sale that I don’t need at this time prior to posting to Barnstormers.

Hoping these parts can help one of you get a jump on the upcoming flying season!

Located in San Diego, CA - shipping / transport options can be discussed. I prefer to sell everything bundled at $2400.

Thanks for your interest and feel free to reply to this thread or PM directly.

    Happy New Year!

    STOL Wing Set $1750

Age and tank construction unknown, they will require ribtail repairs, thorough inspection and new covering at minimum. Flaperons will not be included.

    Fiberglass Cowling Set $350

Excellent condition, ready for trim, finish and paint.  Appears to be the same fit as my Model C.

    Wing Struts $225

    Will need some reconditioning.

    Tow-Bar $75

    Alternative to a trailer.

    Turtle Deck $125

Typical used condition, some fastener hardware will be required.  Appears to match the size for Model C.

  5. Hi Ed,

Thanks for the reply!  My understanding is there is not much/any prior example of a Kitfox flaperon on a Avid, so I may need to hold out for Avid specific flaperons.

I'm in SoCal.  Let's see what other folks have to say and go from there :)

  6. Hey Folks.

Posted on Yahoo Groups as well......I am in need of a left flaperon, or pair.  If you have on/both available, I would love to hear from you.

Also, can anyone confirm if a Kitfox Flaperon is compatible?

Thanks and hope to hear from you.
