  1. Here is a prime example of an airplane trying to fly in an elevation it just simply can't.

It's not only a problem of density altitude

after 800 m, the aircraft just take off but it was a pain in the ass and the pilot doesn't wonder why !

800 m after, at the end of the track (you can see it on the right, with a lot of water on it) it can't take altitude, and the pilot still don't wonder why

3 km later, still no altitude and still no question in the pilot's mind

I don't know what is a "commercial pilot" but I guess it is a professional pilot

With all the grass between the track and the forest the best solution was to land in a field

    not in the forest !!!

    a lot of chance

He could light a candle (or 2)

  2. I hate to see anyone ask a good question, and not get at least one answer.

I am sorry, but I do not have any info on them. I wish someone could help you.

Maybe you could find something on the internet, Aircraft Spruce, AC43-13, or some manufacturer of antennas.

I have an old transponder stored away, but dont plan to use one since I'm not crossing Canada, or flying into a TCA anymore.

    Thanks for your help !!

here is how I fix the antenna, ground shield and Xpdr

  4. I would have to agree with Dave B on this otherwise you will have to have it hanging down in the way. Dave where would one go about purchasing one of these add on slip indicators? part# ?

    Hi

the slip indicator can be found at "aircraft Spruce"

    the ATC 2000 can't fit a 3 1/4 hole

  5. Hi all

I will install a second hand Becker atc2000 a/c in my avid

There's no way to add it on the dashboard and the onliest location I can use is between the foot pilot / passenger (I will have to find a new location for the radio)

is there anyone with such an experience ?

    regards

  6. Great, looks like you just cost me some money. I was going to re-do my pannel and take some weight out of it, and some of these gauges look pretty cool. I have used 5 or 6 differnt tiny tachs and never had an issue with them. I know several places are putting thier label on them. I was in the toy store a couple weeks ago looking at one from Mercury Marine and it was IDENTICAL to the tiny tach ( they has a few of each) just with a different brand on it.

    :BC:

If you want to loose some weight, you'd better use MGL instruments like the "E1" giving 4 EGT/CHT, pressure and oil temp, rpm, Volts, timer .....

  7. Here is what I use to clean the windshield (and the blades of my propeller)

it's very good to clean the "mosquito" even if they are dry from the last flight

  8. People keep saying that. This place is NOTHING compared to the crap we fly over up in Idaho. Maintain your equipment and have faith in your machine. What's the point of flying if all you do is worry about your engine quitting??? I fly for the rush, the freedom, and enjoyment and it's a risk I understand and accept. I don't consider flying across the flatlands at 5000ft from A to B flying it's more like driving. Do you kiss the hood of your car everyday before you drive it?? Driving down the freeway has about 100x better odds for something bad to happen to you than flying does especially in California. I am not trying to sound cocky or anything I am just tired of the 582 bashing all the time.

I broke my first Jabiru when I was a "beginner pilot"

during my flight lessons with my instructor he always chuted off the engine one, two three times or more in half an hour so I lurn how to land anywhere.......... except the threes

I did a lot of work on my jab and I know it will broke in the sky (but I don't know when !!!)

So I always fly with what we call "une vache" (a field of cow) under the plane

as you could see, It's not a matter of rotax !
