  1. wypaul added a post in a topic Warp Drive prop for 503 DC

I am using a Ivo ground adjustable with my 912 and highly recommend one for your 503.  Very easy to adjust for Climb, Cruise, and Normal for your engine.  Ivo can get you into the right one.  Other than that, every prop maker's prop is different and the maker will be your best bet for info.

I have some 21's setting in the hanger but I am not sure that they are up to the terraine around here. I look at all of the great sand bar photos you all post from up in AK and I have to admit I am envious. And the FISH....

Ed you probably went right by where they are making holes to take out the coal. Did you get to see Devils Tower? Most of the Paint is actually vinyl that a friend cut for me.

Took some video of a flight through the mountains looking for turkey for dinner but only saw Christmas geese along the river. I have not figured out the editing part yet so if this old brain can work through that I will post a video one of these days.

Here is a picture of the F7A the first set is almost complete. The linkage rods are design with replacable stud instead of welding Grade 8 cap screws to the end of the tube which results is unknown strength. My fabricators wanted to be sure that these units are safe and high quality. This will run the price up some but I think that you will agree that it will be worth the extra few bucks. I will post the price when my fab guys let me know what they have to have to build these.

Give me a few days so see what the price will need to be. I have agreed to that price to Dimitri and will honor that one. And yes it will include all four parts. We rigged up today and got started on the build and completed half a set. I should be able to post a photo by tomorrow evening. I plan to sell these as low priced as possible, not really looking to make a business out of this just hoping others will take an interest in making other parts so we can support these planes through a community effort.

I did do the screw shake thing and just used sheetrock screws. I also used a quick slosh of acetone a few minutes before the epoxy. If the tanks are mounted in the wings already I think that I would forego the screw thing because it would be hard to get them all out.

It is maybe a little thicker than West epoxy so I would say medium epoxy. It will flow fairly easy.

    Avid Motor Mount Wanted
I am looking for an Avid motor mount or a good drawing to build one from for a 582. This will be used to make some parts available to support the Avid. I keep hoping that Airdale will come back to life but I am losing hope.

I talked to the guy that does my tig welding and he is willing to make some F7A's up.  They will be $85 plus shipping.  I am looking at about a month to get the parts in, jigs made and ready to ship.  Anyone out there interested?  Would like to be able to do a run of 5 or so if there is some interest but will do a one off if necessary.  He will be able to make standard brake pedals, control sticks and etc.  I do suggest Mikesk brake pedals rather than the standard ones and we won't be making those.  Motor mounts and other control parts are also possible .

I have some measurements I will post when I get home later today or you can look back to some posted photos and compare with measurements of the F7.

I do have some of the phenol novolac epoxy that has been soaking in gasohol for over two years now without any signs of problems but that is to be expected as this epoxy is well tested.

I put the Caswell in my tanks when new before installing them. Results unknown, I burn mogas that is alcohol free in my 912. Using the Caswell phenol novolac epoxy in tanks that are installed in the wing would not be an easy tasks but it is doable. With the tanks before they were installed I was able to see that I had complete coverage but that is not possible once they are in the wing. I have no worries about alcohol in the fuel if I am forced to use gasohol sometime in the future.

Thanks Joey that was a good write-up and a good reference for anyone still thinking about VG's.

    Vortex Generators on the wing
John Miller I know you posted some good info on vg's on the Yahoo site and it would be nice to have that posted here if you get a chance.

Like John found my results were that it did not reduce the stall speed with flaps but lowered the no flaps stall to about the same as the full flaps stall. There is a difference that I did not notice at first but realized it the other day and that is with no flaps the angle of attack is much greater than with the full flaps stall which stands to reason. So wheel landings are easier and slower with the full flaps in my plane, maybe I am just a little slow to pickup the obvious.

I used the StolSpeed VG's at about 8%.

Boy Ed that is so right on, the dems, what to make us all like the Indians. It is sad to drive through the reservations and see what is in store for our children and grandchildren.
