  1. Sorry,  I didn't think to get a picture till I had left. Yes it is a model 4.  I believe it's a heim joint

  2. I was gonna go flyin today, nice and sunny and calm. my pre flight was going good till I came around to the tail, I check all the hinges on every thing, when I checked the tail hinge(there kinda like an I-bolt as mine has the speedster tail), the three in the middle where broken. So i only had one on the top and one on the bottom holding my rudder in place. It really took me by surprise cause I don't remember them being broken the last time I flew. So now I guess I need to know where to find some replacements. Has anyone had those brake before?

  3. check out the current MGL lineup.. they seem to provide a lot of bang for the buck and at least around our local EAS chapter (EAS = EAA in switzerland) some of the builders used them and seem to be happy with the stuff..

the 7 inch iEFIS light seems to be a good option for a kitfox or avid.. at least that's what i am planning to put in my avid once i get there. the smaller extreem efis could also be a good option if you don't want charts and radio / transponder controls.. my aim is really to have just one single panel + a tablet for navigation.. the iEFIS seems to be capable of controlling everything including the COM, Transponder and even circuit breakers.. i like empty panels :)

    cheers

Thanks, I  have to agree they do have a nice selection, all I'm looking to do is replace my 6pack, I do have an ipad with 4flight and a Garmin aera 500 gps with a panel dock.

I also like what GrandRapids has to offer

  4. Thanks for the input. I am in to off airport flying but I do land on quite a bit of pavement.

I did notice that the dual arm 8"TW is lighter than the single arm 8"TW

  5. That's not a bad price.

I do have a couple questions for you cause I'd like to replace my wood CGS prop,  these may need to go in another thread but...

1:How does it perform compared to the Prince?

2:how easy is it to adjust (such as from cruise to climb)

  6. Looks like a great  plane you got there!  I say keep it and do some upgrades that you want.  Anything you add should add equal or greater to it's value and "sellability".

Look into the kitfox wing extension kit.  I bought one and am installing it on my short wing KF5.  The consensus is that the long wing doesn't slow it down much (if any) but helps the slow side very noticeably.

yes I'v been thinking on extending the wings but I don't know how easy the color matching will be,  because its metallic purple and blue

And how hard is it to extend the wings?

  7. Hi, my name is Jared, I'm 18 with a little over 100hrs to my name with mostly C-150 time, and recently bought a Kitfox 4 with a 912ul, and 500hrs total time.  I  have put 15hrs on it since I got it in late July, and I can't get enough of it. One of the first things I did with it, was replace the little 16" tires with a set of Nanco 21's which are so much smoother on the grass. When I started looking for a avid/kitfox I knew (I thought) I didn't want a speed wing because I was going more for STOL and not speed, so I past up a lot airplanes with the short wing "UNTIL" I saw this one. The price was right so, I decided to go look at it, and I flew it around and looked it over, and was pretty impressed with the performance of it, so I decided I would buy it and if I didn't like it I could sell it and get my money back out of it, but the more I fly it the more I like it, and I think I'll be keeping it for a while.

So I am now seeking advice from fellow Kitfox flyers on owning and maintaining a Kitfox.
