    Or I could just go and fly the 80hp I have, it performs just awsome the way it is    
    Thanks for the replays everyone, I will keep studying it though, I might come up with something that works. 
    Does anyone have any experience with IVO's IFA props? Just curious if that would allow bigger tires and keep my airspeed??

    I guess the extra horsepower would allow me to have bigger tires and not sacrifice my airspeed?

    I have the chance to increase my horsepower from 80hp to 100hp with 100hp pistons. What are the pros and cons to this, will the extra hp beat up the gear box and crank? I am running the older 912, early 90's I believe.

    The new T/W assy covers the same amount of spring, only thing is the new T/W is a couple pounds heavier

    Here's a pic before I installed the new tailwheel.
    I would figure there's 500hrs on that spring, probably original if I had to guess. 
    I did do a tail first full stall landing but it's the next landing that it broke on,  that was a 3 point. 
    It looks like it's been cracked a while, just never noticed it cause its pinched on the top. 
    My landings are not bad at all and I land on decent grass runways, nothin off airport yet, still practicing

    Broken springs
    I was having fun till my T/W spring broke, I hope the heim joints don't break again, I couldn't tell if it came down on the rudder or not but is was very very close
    This kinda thing must happen somewhat often, but since the spring is broke is there a better replacement option, such as aluminum or something? 
    BTW aviation is such a great community, the airport my mishap happened at, the manager let me but the airplane in an empty hangar till I can get it fixed

    The maule TW that I have weighs 6 lb and my battery is behind the firewall so I think another 2 lb in the tail would help me out quite a bit, I do have a 912

    There was a couple Mud Dobber nest in the rudder that I knocked out, is there any way to tighten the fabric back up?

    I've had a few bouncy landings but nothing hard enough to do something like that. Since I've had the airplane it's never spent a night outside and I only fly when the winds are less than 10kts

    my thoughts exactly!!! I'm pretty sure they weren't lubed on the last annual I think I'm going to go ahead and lube all of the other hinges. 
     
    can I use water/soap to clean out the inside?

    Yup those are what I have. The only difference is i have 5 hinges instead of 3. I'll be going to the airport today to take the rudder off so I'll post up what I find
