I'm pretty sure they're the 1260 version.  I'm not really knowledgeable about the Full Lotus Floats, but some more info:
They measure 14 feet in length and, 6" 10" from the front end to the step, and have 8 inflation valves per float.  Of course, I have no manuals on them.

By the way, the guy that sold the plane and floats to me told me the rigging was for the KF IV.  As I said before, I haven't installed them since I acquired the plane and floats, so I can't absolutely verify that the rigging is what he said.

    Floats for Sale
I have a set of 14 foot Full Lotus floates with Kitfox IV rigging I want to sell. I've never installed them on my KFIV. They are somewhere around 6 to 8 years old, have been stored in my air conditioned shop since 2009. I acquired the floats with the purchase of my Kitfox. As far as I can tell, they are in good condition. Pictures available.

I'm asking $3750 for them. They are located in Wilburton, OK. Pick up only, I will not ship them unless you prepay the crating and shipping and make arrangements with a truck carrier to pick them up. Reply to kl7jw at jwhart.us or phone 580- Five Seven Nine -0289.

    Thanks,

    John Hart

Everything you want to know (and some you don't want to know) about flying in Canada:

    http://www.tc.gc.ca/CivilAviation/general/recavi/Brochures/flyingtocanada.htm
For Amateur Built/Experimental US aircraft you need this:

    http://www.tc.gc.ca/civilaviation/maintenance/regsdocs/validation.htm

A valid US Passport is required to re-enter the United States.

Also, no guns may be transported in Canada without a permit.

Some folks just don't get it when it comes to them asking you to sign off on either mechanical or inspection work or flight instruction.  When you put your name on the line, you are asserting that you have inspected and found the aircraft in a safe condition for flight, and that you have evaluated the person's flying skills and found them to be competent for whatever endorsement in the case of flight instruction.  ANYTHING that goes sour after that inspection will be attempted to be tied to your endorsement/evaluation by any investigation.  I don't mind signing off an owner assisted inspection when I personally look at work the owner has done while I'm with him, but damned if I'll jeopardize my A&P ticket by just signing a logbook without personally inspecting the work.

I've had person come to me with over 100 hours of solo cross country flight time in their logbook, without an instructor's endorsement for it, wanting me to "sign it off so they could take the private pilot checkride".  Damned if I'll do that either.  Anybody wanting me to recommend them for a Practical test for flying, or a written exam is going to have to show me they have the knowledge and experience to successfully pass the test, and a verbal assertion by them don't show me that.   In the case of the person with all the solo cross country time, just a few weeks later, and without having his pilot certificate, he was out solo without any instructor endorsement and got killed due to weather.  I'm damn happy my signature was not in his logbook.

    Leonard,

You're right, it's been too hot here the last week or so until today.  We only got to 90 degrees here so far today.  It's been up to 104 the last week.

I got a few hours in in the last couple of weeks.  Had surgery on my left knee a month ago and it was just too damn sore to get in the Kitfox and fly, but its improving.  I did a bunch of reworking of things on the Kitfox while I couldn't bend that knee.

Re-did the brake lines, installed the Grove gear, re-did the fuel lines (I just couldn't see the need for two shut off valves in each line from the wing tanks to the header tank).  I replaced the SS Braided fuel lines with the alcohol resistant stuff and got rid of all those shut off valves.  Took about 6 pounds of old lines and valves out, put back less than 2 pounds.

Yeah, them engines just go to automatic rough, it seems like, when you're beyond power off gliding distance to shore, and it gets even rougher running when you're ot there at night with overcast skies in a single engine landplane.

    Leonard,
That bunch of self-appointed experts really do get going at times, don't they?

Same kind of thing my daddy used to raise hell at me about - "I buy you books, send you to school, and you still don't know how to read."

Sure would like to get back up that way so I could play in the snow with my KF IV.  Can't do it for a couple more years though.  Got some bone problems (knees) that have to be taken care of first.

No, I haven't been out again since that 4 hour trip for the transponder check.  Seems like I'm up to my ears in alligators, and forgot my primary objective is to drain the swamp, and I can't find the plug!  Busier than a cat trying to cover up manure on a mrble floor lately.  Maybe next week I can go out again.  We're trying to get ready for a road trip pulling a 30' gooseneck flatbed loaded with stuff to take out to Oregon for our youngest son.  We plan on geing gone for a month to 6 weeks.  Got to have a little time to spoil the grandkids rotten while we're there!

This conformity thing, is that with the Anchorage FSDO?  I used help write and dissemenate the Part 135 operating limitations there, as well as helped with the confomity inspections.  Been a long tim, but I do have the FAA Academy training on that stuff, but I doubt that they would want an old fart like me up there unless they are hiring summer help these days.

Nope, I wasn't the dumbass that did that!  It was another one!  ;D  The only helicopters I ever broke was due to small arms fire, and I ain't gonna accept being the cause of those incidents.  :beerchug:

Awww, shucks, I feel neglected now!  Nobody wants to hack on me.

Hey, I knew you weren't picking on me, just pointing out the errors, and if that had happened while I was flying in the military, it would have been the same kind of thing.  Somebody would have let me know, in no uncertain terms, that I blew it.

Yes, there are different weights specified for different things - maximum gross weight, maximum takeoff weight, maximum landing weight (which can be less than maximum takeoff weight), even maximum G-loading weights limiting some manuevers, and maximum forward, aft, or lateral CG limit weights for some aircraft.  Good exmple of the last one comes to mind of lateral loading of a single rotor helicopter with a maximum load on the left side.  Lateral control limits can be exceeded while lifting off to a hover in some cases.  That can be embarrassing!

Uhhh, I think you're right about the "hold my beer" thing with a Kitfox winter, or even summer fly-in!

Won't be long now before the salmon runs start if you're into breakup.  I'd sure like to get back up that way for a while, but got to ride it out here until I can sell the house.

Hey, I already been hacked at!  Just because I made a comment that was incorrect, too!  [  But, that don't mean nothin' except I DID make a mistake.  Ain't the first time I've been wrong about something and it probably won't be the last mistake I make either. :beerchug:

As a matter of fact, I think it's great when we can discuss opinions and be told when we are wrong and check out things in the references to prove or disprove our opinions.  It's a lot like military flight crewmembers on an aircraft working together to get the job done.  It's not important who points out a mistake, but it is important to pay attention that the mistake was pointed out, and to accept the responsibility for it, correct it, and move on, not to get in a p***ing contest because you think you are right.

  21. kl7jw added a post in a topic Gross weight on the AW cert....not there.

No, the only place I can find a "gross weight" indicated on my Eperimental Kitfox is on the data plate (which is not an FAA requirement) and in the weight and balance calculations.  I was wrong about it being on the Special Airworthiness certificate.  And, I may be wrong about a "Gross weight" being on the application, I haven't looked lately.  I was almost certain that the weight and balance calculations had to be presented to the DAR or Inspector issuing the Special Airworthiness Certificate, but I didn't look that up either.  I'm getting about as bad as some other folks! Uhhhh, where do I find the max gross weight for my E-LSA??  Ohhhh, I forgot, only two place "ultralights" can be licensed asw E-LSA, right? :  Really, I don't think some of them folks have much reading comprehension, nor how to research anything for themselves.

Got any warm weater up your way yet leneord?

No, no peechers! ;D  I have a hell of a time taking pictures of me and the airplane while flying it.

Got a new aircraft logbook entry though.  Had the Mode C transponder and altimeter check done today, and got in almost 4 hours stick time doing it.  No avionics shops close by.

Anybody got any idea what the fuel burn should be on the NSI normally aspirated Subaru?  My fuel flow meter says it's about 5.5 at cruise.  Seems a little high to me, but I haven't verified the actual fuel burn by adding measured amounts after a flight with full tanks.  Gotta get 'round tuit one of these days.
