  1. Fred that’s why I carried a bunch of chicken bones while flying in the Blackhawk, and right before the crash I’d say “who let this chicken loose in the cockpit!?”....if you survived they pull the tape and your free, if you don’t survive the crash, it will make for an interesting accident investigation.

  2. I believe mine has a delete plate. Sounds like the juice may not be worth the squeeze. I’m assuming there’s a few 582’s flying sans oil injection? Thanks for the pics!

  3. everyday I inch closer to completion I figured I should start trying to find someone to maybe do the first flight in my aircraft then maybe some instruction for me.

  4. does someone have a picture of the oil injection system? I just picked up a 582 that the previous owner uses premix. I’m on vacation and don’t have it in front of me but when I get back I’m hoping to add it back on, my big question is if he disabled it proper or just disconnected cable. Thanks, this is def the best community

  5. picking up a 582, gonna ditch the electric starter for a pull start, but I think the owner hacked something off that looks important. Because it’s a pain to get a rig machine out here, is there a way to mount the rope starter without this attachment point?

  6. I’m gonna look at it when I get the motor, I’ll have a better grasp on what’s needed, but if someone has already skinned the cat, I’d take advice

  7. It has a c gearbox. I’d go back to pull start if I could. The firewallnissue was that it didn’t have recess for the pedals, so I just didn’t know how I was suppose to get full range

  8. I didn’t see any point in my fuselage that would allow a bell crank to hook up, that’s why I assumed the builder cut it off for some reason. I looked at the build manual, I didn’t see measurements but saw a drawing of how it's supose to be, curious as how the builder planned on having full pedal authority

  9. so I’m swapping into a 582 from a vw, and am having some small issues. Throttle linkage for the 582, which the vw didn’t require any bell cranks, and my firewall just goes straight down, doesn’t have reliefs for the pedals. Anyone have some knowledge to dole out. Attached is the throttle setup now and the look of my firewall

  10. i guess the only benefit of going away from wood is rotting issues. i suppose a carbon spar and ribs would be lighter, but likely juice not worth the squeeze. just interesting thinking i suppose.

  11. just drumming up conversation and trying to learn a bit. I think Eurofox use aluminum ribs...but it doesn’t seem too popular. Neither does composite ribs and spars? I know belites are using carbon spars, just a thought. I’m always thinking these type of things.

  12. I’ve moved to this thread because I think mine is a b or c. I’m missing the 3 out of 4 bushings in the push pull stringers for the elevator. The plan is to use a flanged 2 piece non metallic bushing that extends ~1.5 cm past the housing tube and hysol it in place keeping the bushing isolated in the housing. Now the question is where can I put an access panel to do this repair? Also, it could serve as a panel to remove the lead ballast in the tail and install my battery back there.

  13. Oh man the community has been super good to me already, and i've had people from this forum and others come out to look at it, seems like each time we discover another "weird" thing. Im wondering if i could make a thin pvc bushing to slip in there with some proseal to hold it in along with flaring the ends. The questions is how do you get in there to work on it? I'm located in hazel, ky.

  14. Went out and checked. No bushings. So...now i’m Wondering if it’s not time to scrap the project and rebuild it like I want to. Considering there are already quite a few things that are “weird”....it doesn’t have the motor or wings I want...and it’s probably not even a mk4. Feeling pretty duped

  15. hahaha...i should have known that, i guess it just caught my eye funny when i took the seat out and never really investigated...man, i must have been too close to the problem to solve it. Huge thanks for pointing out obvious stuff.

  16. I have his longitudal stringer that slip fits inside a stand-off, and it appears to be bare. Is this normal? Appears to be for every slip fit junction
