  3. wildirishtime added a post in a topic California Power Systems (CPS) sold to Aircraft Spruce & Specialty

I see this is an older post but we have a few comments. I know that
Aircraft Spruce had some transitionary issues they are still perfecting,
so some small issues are bound to happen. I understand they weren't able
to retain Jeremy (the CPS tech) but have found a new guy they're quite happy with.

Personally I've had CPS loose orders on me, forget items I ordered, etc.
Unline the other individual in this thread, I've always been able to see WHERE
ACS has the item in stock in their online order system (unlike CPS ever did)
and I've had orders modified and even sent late with a simple phone call,
every time - and I'm prone to forget things too

Have no fear they are very proud to expand into the Rotax parts from my conversations
with my insider. They did not buy CPS out for a 'takeover and destroy' mindset,
it's more about expanding into Rotax and it was their only good way to do it.

    Take care!

I don't think the actual question was answered - not everyone can or wants to go with Nancos
due to wheel size. I highly recommend the 850x6 Desser LSA tire, it's fairly new true aircraf
tire from Desser and makes an AWESOME looking and performing tall tire for $100each plus tubes.
These are my cruise tires when I don't want the airdrag of my 26" ABW's.

    Good luck! ~CRAZEDpilot

  5. wildirishtime added a post in a topic A heater core that WORKS!

I just today was installing a new heater core which has been working pretty well except the ooze. It
was for a 912ULS and twice as wide as the one in your photo, I used the Earl's Performance about 12" wide....
Looking fowrard to getting it back together...

  6. wildirishtime added a post in a topic Taildraggers

I recently installed 26" Alaskan Bushwheels on my Kitfox... with 3.5" height increase at the axles compared
to my 8.50's i already had, you can imagine what the visibiity change was, I wish I had measured the prop height
inrease but it must be 6" at least... that REALLY changed the site picture for safety, so anyone
thinking to upgrade tires keep that in mind too...

You're not alone, I get the willies when I fire up an engine on a ramp every time - I think we should,
it keeps us thinking at all times. I don't want that fear to go away... especially when it's a nice day
and you're at an airshow with kids.

  7. wildirishtime added a post in a topic Anyone tried one of these lights??

They appear to be similar lens molds but not identical items at all. Those don't have the wig-wag
or landing light mode that ours does - those are strobe only with no warranty from China
and no quality control. The above mentioned lights are for ricerocket cars and their flimsy
pastic mounts brake off mid-flight (other customers have tried them then purchased ours).
Ours went thru a year-long on-aircraft trial before ever being marketed to the pilot community.

These are all the reasons to spend a few extra dollars on anything these days that
you find on the web - someone sells something that looks similar for cheap, but rarely as good.

Here is a link to our aircraft strobe lights again for you to compare if you want to for fun...

Thanks guys keep safe! If you have any questions about our lighting systems see link below to message us.

I really wouldn't equate them to an LED flashight, they are a strobe system with a Landing light mode.
The video over on our website www.CRAZEDpilot.com shows them pretty well (scroll to the bottom of the page).

They are bright durring the daylight for being seen by other aircraft - we feel they are adequate for
for operations before dusk and the wigwags are tremendous in getting attention. We do not
officially make any statements about their use as FAR night lighting for liability purposes, but they
definately get your aircraft seen, and for $39 that's cheap insurance for most of our customers.

Thanks again for your interest everyone, and if you have questions check out the video demo at the
link above and don't hesitate to contact us at the website for questions.
