  2. Well got my ski's on and a few bushin made on the lath for the inside and outside of ski so nut would tighten up and take a cotter key. Looks awesome so today took her outside shop to taxi a bit and have some fun, went about 200' from shop, and found a dirty (F___in) rotten hardpack tire track after some soft snow/overflow while turnin around and broke the left front of ski right off.  Only the plastic on bottom holdin it together now. There is NO metal structure in those skis all made with fiberglass and very thin IMO.  Ill b takin them off and installin something eles.  Ruined my day but not givin up yet, mayb some landis skis.  Hahhaaaaaa well anyways MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

  10. Custom paint u ask? Heck yea it is!!! The best that kyrlon can squeeze in a can. The old paint job was done in late 80's and paint was comin off so took the cheap quick repair method,  pretty paint don't make her better, but mayb rough paint will make it fly slower. Hahahaaaaaa!!!

  11. Thanks tcj but that the one ive been going to.  And when i click it from ur post it still takes me to a screen that says File not found 404. Not sure what thats about.  But did get #45 fixed, looks like new, course my plane only has 134hrs on it.

  12. Well im not totally sure what we chattin about but if ur havin trouble keepin the inside of ur plane dry in the rain from water runnin down windsheild and gettin behind cowl at there meetin point.  Just use some butyel tape (its a normal old school window seal) its sticky but not enough that u cant get it apart. Very cheap stuff, like $10-12 a roll about 15' long. Get it at auto store or body and paint suppy put it on ur cowl then assemblie and rivit/screw it down. Here a few pic of mine after put in new lexan.

  14. Ohhhhh no very sorry my damm fat fingers typin on this cell phone!!!! It say 513lbs with NO fuel and BRS.  Sorry guys.

  15. Was lookin thro build paperwork and looks like mine is 513 with fuel and a BRS.  And a 532 rotax. But Jim that is my long term goal to put a 582 rotax in it.  Sittin down today and lookin thro all the service letters also. And will look at #45. Thanks

  16. Well all that is good info for sure. Leni and I chatted some about it also. And with luck it could b cause cool outside and have no covers on the motor at the moment. So hope to get them painted and installed by the weekend. But had to move plane outside and work on wifes and daughter car to make sure they ready for winter. But i can multi task. Hahahhaaaaaaa new Tiny Tach works great did a quick mountin for now will mount better when plane in garage again.

  17. Well u r right snow is late. This snow u c has been on the ground over a week, and sunday was 32 degrees out. And had rained saturday.  Hard to say what rpm it was at as sometimes it worked and sometimes it didnt so dont think was right at all. Will b gettin a tiny tach/hour meter today. And will c how she does then.

  18. Well everyone too her outside today and fired her up.  Seems to run good, little ruff at idle but just a few rpms and smoothes right out. Temp went to 140 them back to about 110-120.  Tach dont seam to work all the time. Choise when it wants to respond. Hahhaaaa so ill have to replace that. Even taxied her around the yard a bit. And YAHOO!! Im hooked.  Hahahaaaa well tomorrow ill play somemore got to dark so tied her down and gave her a kiss goodnight!!! Hahhaaaaaaaaaa here a few pic. THANKS to all of u.  Long live #0021

  19. I posted this video a couple of years ago, but it was in the middle of a concert by the Irish folk group, The Doubliners, and probably a lot of you never looked at it.  Anyway, I found this version tonight, and had a fresh laugh, and so thought I would pass it on.  Definatly from times past, before OSHA and other safety programs.  JImChuk

Thats awesome and a great laugh this am with my coffee that went down the wrong tube, damm near choked from laughin.

  20. Speakin of ign.  Is it worth it or is it a doable thing to convert a 532 with points to dual ign and electronic ign?  Id feel better with dual ign being a first time flyer, also would love to upgrade into a 583or670 but dont think my budget will let that happen anytime soon.  I have chatted with rick about a 583 crate motor but at moment is beyond my spending limit

  21. Was lookin at ski info and that will sure help out. THANKS But i c that my axels r 1.5". But no biggy my skis have a large enough hole.  Will know more on fittin of skis when i start to install them later this winter.

  22. Actually no they r pretty light fiberglass construction. And i would love the plans/mounting info!!! Thanks TCJ.  I coukd have them in a box of paperwork that came with the plane, been to busy fixing her up and havent looked thro it yet.

  23. Well she has two wing tanks one in each wing, and the cowl tank, but not sure how many gallons they all r.  Does have cub stlye gear, wheels, tires, brakes, and i even got a sweet set of fiberglass skis with white UHMV on the bottoms.
