  1. They show how much i enlongated the slot in the strut for suspension travel, and the assembiled strut with spring i went to and the cups i made to accept the new springs i changed to.
And yes my gear is taller b 4” at the firewall, and the tire spread was made little wider to accomidate the 4” up at firewall.
Far as what else i want,  a better step design to help u get in, but i may do a step like Atlee Dodge sells for a supercub ect, biggest is i think the bottom of the spring strut where mounts to gear leg should b mounted on the end of the axel not just above it, like supercub gear, but that will also mess up some guys that r running 3/4” axels, i run 1.5” axels on both my KF1 so that wouldnt affect me.

  2. Anygear will bend up ur plane if its not right for ur type of flying. I can tell u i had an OPPS on my first landing on this gear, hit hard enough took the headset off my head and into my lap, bounced and hit again, didnt bend anything. Shook me up bad enough i had to get out of the plane for 30min to stop shaking and relax.
Id buy another set, but have a few more ideas to suite my wants.

  4. Av8r3400, well took me a bit to get back to u on this since its mining season,

YOU R CORRECT ON THE BLOWER ON A DETRIOT DEISEL.  The motor i was thinking of that i have here isnt a detriot, its some german 6cyl i always thought was a detroit but never paid that much attention.

So i was not right on the discussion, And u where correct. Smallest detriot i have here is a 3-53 in a mid 1960 studabaker one ton flat bed.  All original driver.

  6. I swaped a 503/Abox single carb out of my KF model 1 and installed a 582/Cbox dual carb, was an easy swap, aluminum mount is same, only difference was i had to modifi one motor mount bar,(went thro the rear carb area) all i did was cut one end loose, moved it down weld it up and now it clears.

  7. Some of the shafts and drifts around here been standin for 100yrs and they 80-100ft underground.  In the 36yrs mining here we have seen what looked like winter living quarters down there, have dug up bed frames, wood stoves, lots of tools, Have heard some workers went in in fall and stayed down there most the winter.  Also lots of old cabins with false floors where the shaft entrance was hidden under the floor, Also we have the old Hudson stamp mill built in 1910-1911 still standing here 5stories tall.

  8. I just had a crack in the top of my cowl tank right next to the filler neck so when u filled it up it wheeped gas.  Drained it and used a small hot iron for doing soldering on the crack, melted it back together to seal crack then for extra assurance i smeared some seal-all ontop.
Thanks for the help with imfo on doing this little project!! now to get a better tank for a cowl/header tank that can still have the dash.

  9. Well another mining season is well under way here. Lots of dirt to move, and the miner next to me (we r mining up to each others property line found the top of an old mining drift id guess 90-100ft underground. Drift is about 5’tall 5’-6’ wide at bottom.  Looks like part of the drift going back into the hill on my side of property line mayb still open to get into later for some cool pic!!!!

  11. Man that i lookin realy good!!! I like the split in the upper have like that, thats my only complaint about the top of cowl on my bluefox, ive thought about cuttin it there so easy to deal with and not so likely to scratch windsheild.

  12. Thats the same cowl that is on my bluefox originally had a 503, i sold motor and installed a grey582, only difference ive cn in the mount for smooth or round cowl is there extra brackets welded to mount the round cowl fastners. And the one bar that runs from top to bottom on left side across front of carbs needs moved for carb clearence. Mayb these pic can help brainstorm that somemore.  Ill do all my model 1’s this way now and use .080 lexan
