  2. Can anyone tell me what the advantages to droop wing tips is? I see there are some for sale here from TJay. Why dosent every one use them?

  3. Can any one explain if Aero Tech or Euro Fox have any relashion or origin to US Kitfox planes, their made in CV and sold mainly in Europe, looks and specs like a newer Kitfox, But the price on them is way more.

  4. If you do not have a private ticket but have no medical issues, you can relatively quickly get a Recreational ticket. That's what I did. I was a student pilot getting re signed off every 90 days for a year and a half in my MKIV waiting for Sport pilot to emerge. I could have cared less about a private ticket at the time. Well Sport Pilot did not happen and I got sick of waiting.  Since the Rec ticket didn't require any hood time, I could go thru the whole license process in my MKIV. I went ahead and studied and took the rec written test (as well as the private test same day) and the next weekend took my check ride in my MKIV and got the rec ticket. Over the next two years I slowly built some 172 hood time and finished my private just because...... not because I

Can you please post up the document that shows it "certified" at 1400?

    :BC:

Yes. Thanks everyone for the informative feed back, I do appreciate the info. The only place it state's the weight now is in the operating handbook. I think for me the best advice so far is to just go the extra step and get the private pilots licence, I don't have a problem with the medical and I Do like the Ivo adjustable prop.

  5. You talking about an Oil cooler?  I checked a lot into this also, another one was" Big Twin" air cooled, in a V twin two cylinder configuration, much like an air cooled Wisc. Motor. Same conclusions for me, not enough horses for the weight penalties.

  6. Maybe some one can help answer a question about the LSA rule on the KitfoxV I've purchased! The plane had been registered and certified as "Experimental" the prior owner posesed a regular private pilots licsence. The plane was registered with a Gross weight of 1400 lbs., the Light Sport Aircraft rule state's, 1320 lbs. Max Gross Weight, the plane only weighs 750 lbs. Empty, With full fuel tanks and 2, 200lbs. People it still comes in under 1300 lbs. the rest is cargo weight. Can this be re certified to meet the LSA weight limit? Thanks for any answers!

  7. A 912 with 80 hp will fly like a million dollars in that plane.

What all needs to be reconditioned or repaired?

So far, it needs a brake line, New carb boots, a battery, a radio intercom battery, a small repair on the removable wing tip cover, a door cylinder, cleaning, and a low tire.

Congrats!  What does it have for an engine and prop?

Hey Thanks! Its go a 80 hp Rotax 912, and a ground adjuadjusle prop.

I'll be counting the months until you start looking at the Zipper kit installation to get more HP out of that 80 - but it will fly!

I dont think Rotax made the 912 100 hp. Back in 1995, but you got to start someplace. You know it! More power is your freind!

  11. Hey Will! I live in Montana, Kalispell area, I was planning on going this year to, let me know where your meeting spot out this way would be! Love to be part!

  12. I'd just like to day Hello to every one on this forum! I'm a new owner of a KitfoxV and new to sport aviation, I live in western Montana, and if there's anyone who lives out this way, it would be nice to meet and talk 28th you all,. I found my Kitfox in an old hanger in a very small township airfield, it was like a barn find. It hasn't flown in about 10 years and is a 1995. The previous owner keeper up on the maintanance on it, and it isn't to far from flying, fabric is good, no holes, or rust, engine is free and compresion is good. Only 80 hours total on it, I found it by a freind that told me there might be one that a freind of his once owned. Shire enough it was there, and a Mark V to. I was hoping for a Mark IV or IV classic, but it turned out to be a V, the price was right, A lot less than what I've seen unfinished ones going for, it's got all the options available in 95', I was looking at Avids and never thought I'd end up with this! Wow can't wait to get it home and start going thru it, Pictures to come! Thanks!
